I know they do shrink over time, especially if taken from a small room to a bigger room. My 42" was always fine for a bedroom tv, in the living room not so much lol. I also seem to be sitting closer than most people. It's really only about 8.5' away from where my eyes would be on the couch to the tv stand. But yes, people saying immediately after getting a 60" they wish they would have gotten a 65" or bigger is troubling. All those cases they were further away than what my couch is though. I also can't stand to have the tv bezzle hang over the tv stand, I bought the tv stand in mind for a 55" but room to go to a 60"

I was going to get the 55" just because I thought hmm, in a couple years it will be a nice bedroom tv when I get a house. But I kept trying to convince myself 55" was big enough, so i'm going 60"

anyway i'm really excited for Thanksgiving. I wouldn't be surprised if Best Buy opens at 8pm Thanksgiving night this year. That will be a fun day!
Did you get the tv yet or are you waiting until BF? I picked up a 65vt60 and have it on the same stand as you. It sticks out about 2" on either side. I really enjoy sitting close so your area won't be an issue and could accommodate the 65"easily.

I'm going thursday evening. It looks like it won't go any lower than $1,999 there, maybe it will change to $1799 on black friday, who knows. The 5 year warranty is $449.99 I know it's not worth it, but it does look like it covers more than square trade. I'd probably just get the 2 yr if you can add years to it when the 2 years is up.

I could go bigger, but 60" is all I can really afford at the moment. Years down the road i'm sure I'll have a 75" 4k OLED. Going from my 2010 42" 720p plasma to a 60vt60 will be a big enough of a jump for now.

So did you get it? Also the price went down to $1799. I am so jealous. I was actually considering upgrading, but my ST60 is calibrated and has a 4 service plan for $1799. So basically I am missing better 3D, THX settings (kinda not needed with calibration), and better speakers (only needed with Netflix really) because I'm using surround sound with cable and Bluray.

amazon right now

55vt60 = $1,499
60vt60 = $1,749
65vt60 = $2,149

yes i bought the 60vt60. I bought it for the $1,999. They were out of it so I have to pick it up on the 5th. Thanks for the heads up though! saw you post and went over this afternoon for them to adjust it to $1,749 and pick it up at a store that is closer to me. that brought the total price down about $360 Only downside is I have to wait until friday instead of thursday, but that's okay.

Just think, in April the 60vt60 was $2,765. So a $1,000 drop. Not bad!
