The SD DVD is #1 overall, Blu-ray is #7.

Pirates 3 and High-School Musical 2 are 14 and 15 respectively, I'd imagine their blu-ray release will end up pretty high as well.

Never under-estimate the power of teenage girls.

Cars Blu-ray edition is at #35.

Yes, Ratatouille was critically acclaimed... but, as was mentioned earlier, it performed poorly compared to most/all Pixar releases so far in America. It also did badly in regards to branded product merchandising, but that was expected. Surely, you'll always see more Cars toys than Rats...

Hopefully, between foreign box office and US DVD sales... it'll get a little more respect. It really is a fine film on multiple levels and deserves to bring in the cash.

For the latest on the foreign box office, there is an article here:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...ry=ratatouille

which says that Ratatouille brought in $14.5 million over the weekend to hit $371.8 million. For comparison, Transformers is listed at about $384 million for foreign take by boxofficemojo.com. While Ratatouille is winding down, looks like it will pass Transformers there.

I believe one of the HD-DVD titles got up to #1 for a very short while. Can't remember which one.

But highly-ranked hi-def titles are often artificially spiked by some sale, e.g. a not-so popular BD title called 'Memento' got up to #2 when it was bundled in a deal with the PS3.

Titles like PE, 300 etc. got in the top three on both formats on their own account, sheer popularity.

Same here. Cars shipped out earlier while Ratatouille said "Items not yet shipped". But I checked again just now, and the status is now "Items shipping soon".

Cars shipped for me.

Aviator is shipping soon.

Ratatouille is not shipped.

They have until I go to bed to ship it or I'm canceling yet another pre-order from Amazon. I'm sick of these guys now.

Every other source ships out so you have it on Tuesday (if you have proper shipping).

I just got a coupon in the mail for BB, so I'm going there I think.

I'm surprised how long it took for Ratatouille to reach most of Europe. It played back in August in my neck of the woods, to great acclaim.

My Region A copy hasn't shipped from Amazon yet either, but I'll gladly wait a day or two longer, as opposed to four or five months... by which time the Region A Finding Nemo should be a very strong preorder.

Ratatouille is a beautiful movie that a lot of adult will like, i'am 31, and the end was as satisfying as Toy Story 1..

I think Best Buy has a deal with $10 off if you buy 2 out of Ratatouille, Cars, and the shorts. My problem is that I want all 3, but I'm getting Cars tomorrow from Netflix, so I'll probably pick up the other 2 on the deal and then buy Cars later.

Yes, this is really annoying, I don't understand why it is so high up there. Very strange...

Both Cars and Rat' shipped for me. Can't wait. Remember, Transformers owned the week. There are two very high profile Pixar movies coming out on Blu this week along with The Aviator. I am overwhelmed with the new releases. Still not really missing Paramount and Universal. Bring on Superbad next!

I think that is a result of the new HD DVD players out there recently. I know the sales ones were cheap and may have lower attach rates, but as the Blu-ray side knows, enough players with a low attach rate can have a good impact. And Planet Earth is a very good HD title outside the shoot-em-up, blow-em-up action movies. Blu-ray had almost caught up in the Since Inception sales for that title and then it has been selling more on HD DVD the last 2 weeks by the Nielsen numbers we've gotten and has moved up more on Amazon. I consider that title somewhat of a litmus test and is one reason I am hoping the Blu-ray camp lowers prices on standalone players (which I think would be likely to help sales for that title on Blu-ray).
