Not bad at all. I think it could have done over 3 without Gravity. I believe Gravity had heavy appeal to Latino audiences as well.

It's double whammy football wise... There's football from 10 AM PST (1 PM EST) to Midnight PST (3 AM EST) because of the late Charger/Raider game. I think the drop could be bigger... East and West coast late shows will be affected. (Not to mention LA will actually be paying attention to the MLB playoffs for the first time in a while....)

Gravity made in 3 days more than double what Cloud Atlas made in its entire domestic run. Breaks my heart.

I didn't even know there was football on today. A friend of mine was saying there wasn't. Maybe just not a game they wanted to watch.

Did you invest in Cloud Atlas as one of the Producers? I mean, it was an enjoyable enough movie, but it WAS very much All over the place, back & forth, different time periods, a Wee bit confusing , whereas this movie (Gravity) is a pretty straight forward sci-fi thriller with 2 characters.

Or, to look at it another way...
it made in one day what Cuaron's last film did its entire run...

Or... Outside of the Harry Potter film, it out-grossed all of his other films in one weekend. (Individually... It will pass all of them combined by the end of next weekend.)
