Can someone clear something up for me about M. Holut's Holiday? If the original 1953 version runs at 99 min, and Tati's 1978 re-edit at 87 min, then what's with the 114 minute runtime I see everywhere (IMDb, Wikipedia, 1001 Movies)?

Yep, it's been delayed 'til July. The PR team working on the release informed those of us covering the release yesterday.

Thanks for that! I'm glad they're different, I was always going to keep my BFI discs anyway, so it's good that StudioCanal isn't just more of the same.

Edit: I've only just realised the French set is already available, but we have to wait another 4 months for the UK set! Why the long delay, when surely the only difference is the packaging?

I assume, like the upcoming U.K. set, it's Region B?

Does ALL of the material (not just the features) have English subs?

I'm trying to decide whether to buy the French box, which has nicer packaging, or wait for the U.K. edition in July, which will obviously be English friendly throughout.

Followup:

The U.K. set has dropped even cheaper. With the VAT taken out, it's now £32.57 - £35.65 with shipping to the U.S. which comes out to $58.79. That's SO much cheaper than the French set, I decided it's worth waiting to July. It's a great price for 7 discs with box and booklet!

To ask the obvious question, do all the films, shorts and extras in the French set come with English subtitles?

I'm guessing we'll have identical discs in the UK set and the only differences will be the book and packaging....
