Just watched the latest trailer where they show more of Godzilla and it looks AMAZING. I'll probably want to check it out in the theater to get the full effect. Hope the 3D is good and if so, I'll get it on 3D Blu-ray.

I hope the new Godzilla 3D trailer shows up before the 300 3D previews.

Just rewatched Pacific Rim 3D and it will be very tough to top, but will have to check out the new trailer you guys mentioned. Thanks.

Yeah, this could be a lot of fun if done right.

Earlier this month, the classic Godzilla vs King Kong was on TV. A good battle between the two with vintage practical effects of tiny buildings and tanks.

Were you referring to Son of Svengoolie a couple of weeks ago?

Yeah, on Svengoolie, the late night horror movie host. Very entertaining and comical host with lots of interesting details on the movies being featured in between commercial breaks. Did you check out that episode also?
The next week they had a movie about a werewolf, but I missed that one.

Godzilla burst out of a Glacier in the ocean and King Kong was sent in against his will to battle it out, but the humans quickly found out Godzilla had a clear advantage, thanks to his projectile flame breath.

I hope they show a preview of the 2nd trailer of Godzilla in 3D before 300: Rise of an Empire this Friday. Or during Need for Speed 3D March 14, 2014.

I caught it finally before NFS 3D. 3D looks very good, guessing about medium 3D to upper medium range, nicely done. Will the 3D be as strong as Pacific Rim's 3D on the other hand will be a question for the final movie this May 2014.

I just wish we saw a little more of Godzilla, but it does increase the anticipation.

Can't wait to check this one out.

I see the guy that won the Golden Globe is in this one, I think from that show Breaking Bad, which I heard about but haven't seen yet.

I saw the 3d trailer of Godzilla yesterday when I went to go see 300 and it looked fantastic. I will be there May 16th for sure.....going. To need to buy advanced tickets though, I don't want to chance it being sold out.

Yeah, this looks promising. I like how the government (or whoever it was) was trying to say it was a natural disaster like a hurricane or tornado that destroyed parts of the city. I like the reference to the 1950's, stirring up Godzilla way back then.

So this definitely looks like the Evil version of Godzilla.

Godzilla has never been evil. He's just very large and a bit of a klutz.

Is it really so hard to spell out the whole title for those of us who don't have every Godzilla title in out minds?

Out minds? Hmm. Here's the whole freakin' title so you can keep in mind:

Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack

Perhaps you can see why it commonly gets shortened to GMK.

OMG, you are so right. My grandmother actually just laughed at me because I don't have the titles of the several dozen Godzilla films in my head, especially the later, more marginal ones.

Whether Godzilla is evil even in this film is debatable as he is explained to be possessed by and is the avenger of the victims of war which have been forgotten about.

I'll start by saying I'm always on Godzilla's side, good or evil.

Godzilla seen as "evil" in the eyes of the humans he's stepping on.

Godzilla and Baby Godzilla, he was a good guy in that one.
Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla, the humans felt he was evil so they designed a giant version of him to stand a chance.

------
Going back to Pacific Rim 2, Del Toro mentioned they weren't ruling out Godzilla making an appearance, but part 2 probably won't happen based on the limited box office sales. Giant monster movies being a niche genre that doesn't appeal to a wide audience in many cases, but hopefully they give this one a chance since it's in mainstream theaters.

I think the difference with GMK, er, Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack, is the malevolent intent, regardless of the reason. Most other movies he's no more evil than a hurricane.

Interesting analogy about Godzilla being like a Tornado or Hurricane. Those natural disasters are indifferent and without a functioning mind, much like hailing ice doesn't care about the grain crop you were about to harvest for your family.
Godzilla on the other hand, has a choice to avoid the cities or trample through them. Most times he choose the city and stampedes through, smashing everything in his path for the fun of it (and the audience watching).

If Godzilla was real, I wouldn't be smiling, but looking for an underground shelter or way out of the city he was about to visit. Imagine the sirens going off, and then you hear this loud roar in the distance combined with a growing rumble.....

-----
Snickers candy bar has been airing the Godzilla commercial with Godzilla on water skis, with the theme "You're not yourself without Snickers". Then at the end they flash the "See Godzilla in theaters May 2014". It's a good preview that shows the upcoming Godzilla design fully, very similar to the classic design of Godzilla on a pair of water skis.
[Show spoiler]Only kidding about the design in the commercial being the new Godzilla. This is the old classic design, the movie will have a new design Godzilla that has yet to be revealed fully).
