Loved the first season of 24, didn't care for the rest. Never watched Lost.

LOST, a series that "defined" a 2000 decade!. It saved TV from reality show plathora.

LOST is one of those "experimental" shows that actually got it dead-on. Yes we can debate on lame season 2 or "reaching" season 6 final season. But LOST will always be a first and last of its kind. The others are just cheap immitators.

in so many words, LOST is like MIAMI VICE and BREAKING BAD. You have to experience it and live with it.

They were both great in their day for different reasons, and neither of them really hold up today IMO.

Lost is a far better show IMO. The early seasons of 24 were certainly entertaining and even "binge-addictive", but there was a lot of cringe too (remember Kim and the cougar?). It also hasn't aged nearly as well as Lost.

I agree that 24 has not aged well at all. I feel LOST still holds up rather well but moving forward it will be interesting to see how people feel in 20 years from now.

I tried watching 24 about 2 years ago on Amazon... and hated it. Couldn't make it even to the middle of the season before I turned it off and never went back.

So, Lost for me.

LOST is a show that literally re-invented the network television.

Its pilot is like one full-length feature action adventure feature film.

A show that re-definined Television.

24 was pretty revolutionary television back in 2001 too though.

24, I can barely get thru 1 episode completely now.

LOST is so watchable. Cannot wait for 4K at some point.

8 Ways Lost Changed TV Forever

Quote:
1. A Huge Return On A Risky Investment

2. A Diverse Cast, A Global Phenomenon

3. It Brought The Showrunners Into The Spotlight

4. Television's First Official Podcast

5. A TV Show For The Internet Age

6. Often Imitated, Never Duplicated

7. Serialized Storytelling In A Primetime World

8. A 6-Year Plan
........frankly speaking, TV has never been the same.

same can never be said about 24.

That's not true at all. The majority of those points are also true about 24, which did them 4 years earlier than Lost.

The Enduring Legacy of '24'

How '24' And Kiefer Sutherland's Morally Compromised Hero Jack Bauer Changed TV Forever

Saying that 24 didn't completely change the network television landscape is just revisionist history. 24 did it several years before Lost hit the screens.

Jack Bauer's story still needs an actual ending.
