As for the early sales, yes, I remember those, but I also remember in those days that many mainstream DVDs and Blus were much more expensive than they are now. So the current 15% is not often really as paltry as it sounds by comparison. The math sometimes comes out even. But in those days shipping was free for every order and there was no tax and that makes a difference. |

I had two backorders from their Olive sale cancelled recently but I also received an email from Ebay the same day that they too were having problems with authorizing my card and would remove it from their system. I assumed it was my credit card because it was two different websites but it turned out everything was fine on my credit card’s side.

I ordered Arrow's Limited Edition of Graveyards of Honor along with another title from Deep Discount a while back, and not long afterwards the listing for Graveyards simply disappeared from the DD site (presumably because it's a LE and all DD's copies have been sold?). Graveyards continues to display in my order history though, while the other title I ordered in the same order has already shipped out to me, so do I just wait now until DD finally cancels Graveyard or do I contact them?

Members don't generally call the site great, but it's often the cheapest place to buy boutique titles and occasionally TV seasons. They're not known for fast shipping at all, though it's improved in the last couple of years pre-COVID. Most sites are packing and shipping orders out more slowly due to the pandemic.

DeepDiscount is a solid retailer. If you don't need an item right away (and let's be honest, none of us here really do), then placing an order - even if it's on backorder - does mean you'll get it. I've never had an order DeepDiscount has failed to fulfill. Those B1G1 Olive Films sales are always a blast!

Personally haven't had any issues with Deep Discount as a company. I haven't gotten an order in through them since June of this year, but any order I have placed always comes in not damaged and in one piece. If I'm trying to get something on release day I'll just do in-store pickup via Best Buy / Target, but that's just me.
Deep Discount have a big ole "Please be advised that your order may take longer to receive due to carrier volume issues and increased processing time due to pandemic protocols. Thank you for your understanding and patience." warning on their website, so it's good to keep that in mind when ordering through them. |

You just need to realize that the shipping business right now where it be USPS, UPS or FedEx are getting swamped with all the Black Friday purchases from the past two weeks going out all at once that coupled with "Rona" protocols are likely slowing things even more. I ordered some stuff when they were having a sale a couple of weeks ago on the 17th and it arrived 7 days later on the 23rd. I ordered some stuff from Best Buy this past Friday the 27th and its not scheduled to arrive until Saturday. You just got to give it time. |

Ordered 4 seasons of Lucifer on December 4th, shipped the 5th...went from Kentucky to Pennsylvania (my state is Delaware) in the course of over 1 month. And I still haven't gotten my delivery. It moved between 2 PA facilities in the course of over half a month, and has not updated since 1/3.
But here's a gag. That order's shipping Media Mail (snail mail). Meanwhile, I score Tremors (Limited Edition) for $25 and change, and they ship it First Class Priority mail (which carries a 3-5 business day delivery time on it). Currently due to be delivered today, but it also is showing with a tracking delay. Seems like if you don't get something that is considered priority, you're going to be waiting long enough that any potential exchange on damaged/non-working goods will run out. Heck, I don't even wanna think what the cold weather is gonna do to my items over the course of several weeks of exposure. Meanwhile, FedEx, UPS, and Amazon's own delivery services are running nice and efficiently. |
