Nice Rain Man is finally getting a remaster, 4K to boot. Glad I held off on buying the current release. So is Dances with Wolves also getting a 4K remaster, will it be the Director's Cut over 2-Blu's to maximize bitrate, and will it have any new extras?

Other 4K remasters I'd have MGM choose would be:
[Show spoiler]
Code:
Battle of Britain
A Bridge too Far
Bull Durham
Casino Royale (1967)
GoldenEye
The Great Escape
RONIN
The Silence of the Lambs
Species
The Usual Suspects

Some others.

I would love to see Silence of the Lambs get 4K treatment. The current Blu is just slightly above the DVD. I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

Based on the clips seen in the MGM trailer on the ROBOCOP bluray, I'd say a remaster of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS is absolutely in our future.

Ronin is probably one of the worst looking blu-rays I've seen in terms of DNR. I would welcome a new transfer!

I really like this movie, and hadn't gotten around to picking it up yet, so I'll probably get this new disc.

Advanced copies of the new "Fargo" have been sent out here and there so I'm sure the other MGM titles will be following shortly.

What other titles did they show in that trailer?

What are the chances there will be anything different about it (other than the transfer)?

I think it will be similar to Fargo where nothing new is added.

And was Fargo drastically different?

In terms of special features, no.

There is a definite improvement in the quality, though.

I would disagree. The comparison shots I've seen on Caps-a-Holic show the movie to be woefully soft. Perhaps shot that way? The older release, while showing processing, is at least sharper with visible film grain. The new transfer looks like it's been DNR'd to the point that some detail has been lost and what happened to the grain? Whether or not one's personal taste thinks it's over processed or not is another story. I usually go for the unprocessed look, but the new transfer just looks way too soft. People may say that it may be more "film-like" or "natural looking" now, but wow that movie was just shot too soft.
