Just opened it up nothing looks out of place to me beside the yellow and black wire that run to to that horn are pinched behind it. I'm going to try to get them unstuck and see if that helps

This is what I have seen but I'm going to try to get these wire unstuck. I tried getting the yellow wire out but couldn't must have been glued in didnt want to force it. Could that be the issue?

At this point you should really consider signing up at the Klipsch forum .
Lots of folks there that are far more technically savvy and articulate than myself . Post you're questions in the general section and go from there .

I'm sorry but I got to say it , that center will in no way keep up with the Forte's . In a surround configuration you would be better off going with the phantom center channel configuration .

Ill look around the web for a klipsch fourm. But you don't have to say sorry for the comment about the center it was practically free and as of now I don't even know how to hook it up and these won't be set up for a permanent for a 5.1 until I move. I wish I could try it out along with the sub I just don't know how to do it as of now. I guess I'm too simple.

I can relate , heck I have never owned a cell phone

https://community.klipsch.com/

I use 5 Klipsch Belles and a Velodyne DD18 in a simple 5.1 surround configuration .

Great looking viewing room, love that couch. But yeah I want to get the forte fixed before I invest anymore money in home audio. I will probably get a decent reciever if I can get it fixed. I would be thrilled to play some Xbox One and watch some movies with great audio tracks with all that in a 5.1 set up. But if cant get a fortes horn working properly I guess 100 dollars for all that is more than a great deal and I will sure be happy to just listen to music with it. Even though the crackling horn drives me up the wall sometimes.

That does not look right. I believe you can loosen the screws on the front of the cabinet for the mid-range driver in order to fix the wires. I will check my speakers when I get home after work.

Well so do I but if you need to replace the driver it really is not hard to do and you have the link I gave you to buy a replacement. Just to ease your mind a good set of just the Forte II main speakers are selling for at least 500 a pair so even if you have to drop 100 into them you still are way ahead of the curve.

The replacement driver is only 100? That's not too bad. I will be willing to pay that they one that works well sound amazing. And after have them going for a while I listen to my JBLs and they sound almost as if they have an echo. I can't believe how clear the fortes sound and how well the sound carries. I really don't want to have to replace the driver for it not so much for the cost but because I would have no idea what I'm doing.

That is why I told you to contact the ppl at Crites. They will walk you through it. Here is the pricing from their website for the mid-range diaphragm

Quote:
New replacement midrange diaphragms for the following:

Klipsch Heresy II, Cornwall II, Quartet, Forte, Forte II, Chorus, Chorus II, and KLF Series speakers including the following specific Klipsch midrange (squawker) drivers:

K-53-K, K-52-K, K-52H, K-57-K, K-58-K, K-59-K, K-61-K, and K-62-K.

This is a high quality replacement diaphragm developed for us. It tests very good in comparison to an original Klipsch diaphragm and better in a couple of ways. It, has slightly smoother frequency response, it extends a bit higher and it rolls off smoother without a bounce back at higher frequencies.

Price is $70.00 per pair plus $7.00 for shipping
So less than 100.

I'm sorry but I am not sure what you are saying here.

I will not be taking my passive off of my speaker anytime soon. All I will do is check to see how you can get the mid-range loose so you can re-position the stuck wires.

Sorry for the misunderstanding about you checking on your speakers. I looked on there website and couldn't find the a replacement for the large horn that's in the middle. I could just be blind though. But what you're saying is I can just unscrew that front horn and just move it out a bit and move the wire from the passive hole?

Ok like I had said call them and tell them you own the Forte IIs and they will tell you which diaphragm to order. But first remove the grill and loosen the 12 screws holding the mid-range horn in place and then reach inside since you have the passive radiator removed and see if you can pull the wires for the driver out so they are not between the wood and the driver coil.

I will give them a call on Friday and explain my situation if these doesn't fix my problem staying hopeful. When you ordered your parts how long was shipping? And thank you for all your help. I wish there was like a rating system for members profiles for helpfulness. Everyone on this forum is helpful but you've been an awesome help thank you.

I believe it only took a week or less to get the parts. It might have been faster but this old dude can't remember well anymore. Thanks for the kind words. If it was me and you find out you do need to replace the mid-range diaphragm I would go ahead and order the x-overs and titanium diaphragms along with the mid-range one and make those puppies better than brand new.

Yeah Ill Definitely think about doing all of them. But im brand new to this so I'm just going to go one step at a time. I'm going to be posting on a klipsch forum when ever they verify my account. See if there is anything else I could do to fix the problem. Because my lack knowledge and skill it really makes me scared about replacing them I don't want to break anything. But I would love to have these guys up and running they already pretty much sound like a movie theater. (Although I cant seem how to get the 5.1 set up with this receiver.) and I will give that place you suggested a call tomorrow on my day off hopefully ill be able to post with good news. I will surely update you with any more info as this scary but exciting project unfolds.
