It is brilliant and sad at the same time.

Nice premiere and it looks like it could be a good season. It seems like they are playing up the awkwardness just a bit too much though.

Love this show. The only thing I didn't like about the new episode was the new female boss. It's like she's doing a bad impression of Peter Gregory.

The monkey bit with the robotic arm in the last episode had me tears.

Does anyone who has the UK season 1 blu-ray, confirm if it has the cast/crew commentaries please? They're supposed to be as funny as the show.

We have a boss like that where I work its not quiet the same but close enough to recognize the traits...

This is by far one of their best shows, and I hope it makes it for a bunch of seasons.

I interpreted it as not so much a character copy of Peter Gregory but maybe they were doing a play on Yahoo!'s CEO who is rumored to have these traits.

So what did everyone think of season 2 of Silicon Valley? I didn't think it was near as good as season one, but still think it's one of the best comedies on TV. The show definitely took a hit losing a character like Peter Gregory, and I hated Chris Diamantopoulos' character (I'm pretty sure I've hated every character he's ever played), but the core characters were still great. The finale was an overall great episode and did a good job of setting up next season's conflict. The part with Jared knowing Manny Pacquaio as a Filipino legislator and not as a boxer may have been the funniest on TV this year.

Eh I mean I love it, but the constant conflict is annoying. I'd rather see it progress somewhere... For the last two seasons its been a constant one step forward two steps back situation and if it does it for another season not sure I'll stick with it... Nows the time for it to start going somewhere...

It reminds me of made in america, great show and you kept hoping it would grow but they just spun tires with constant conflicts or things that didn't progress the show.

Exactly how I feel. The show is still funny but it seems at times just to be going in a circle. Good thing happens/bad thing happens/good thing happens etc. I'd like to see some actual progression or variety with the show.

I liked the season but do agree with what everyone is saying. There are only so many times he can have his company taken away, about to be taken away, about to fail, etc etc.

Thomas Middleditch's Richard is starting to wear thin as well. His awkwardness just makes it almost too uncomfortable to watch.

I'm actually rewatching the first season now and didn't realize how many call backs they had in the second season.

Yeah let them build an office, let them each have a department to run, you know? So many ways we can see a growing tech company and make it fun and interesting... But omg we might lose, phew we solved it. Omg we might get hacked, phew we solved it. Omg we can't get funding, phew we found it. I'm over that with the show, and if they do it again I'm out for awhile.

I really think they should have stuck with the office space angle and really brought some extra people in to really expend the reach of the show.

Formula aside I laughed at season 2 way more than I remember laughing at season 1. I'm about to rewatch season 1 with my wife, so I'll see how it holds up for me.

One step forward, two steps back is the formula for a lot of the HBO comedies I've watched. Silicon Valley, Entourage, Girls, and apparently How to Make it in America. Par for the course on the network, I guess. Silicon Valley S2 is particularly bad about it since they literally did it every episode, though.

I don't think Gregory was really anything that special... I think the female version of him they brought in did just as good of a job.

I don't know who Chris Dia.... is, but if it is who I think it is, then yes, I hated him and his "COMMAS" He was a disaster, horrid character.

As for people upset with the going back and forth thing, that's how these kinds of companies are though. Maybe it doesn't make for exciting TV (I'm not bothered by it) but at least it is fairly realistic. It seems season 3 is going to be pretty drastic though in terms of differences. Season 1 was just a test.. they didn't get a lot of episodes. Season 2 built off of the success that season 1 had and it seems season 3 is really going to go out there and switch it up a bit.

I didn't think Gregory was that special either. He (very unfortunately) was not around long enough to stick with me as a character, but the Burger King scenario may have been the first thing to convince me I liked the show.

I actually thought Russ Hanneman was funny, though. Some of my favorite lines of the season.

Maybe my favorite comedy on TV. My favorite scene of season 2... the focus group.
