I believe the title in actuality has to do with the
[Show spoiler]anti-war theme of the film. It could also tie into philosophy as Malick tries to toss philosophical undertones into all his films.
But The Thin Red Line is a term used to describe British soldiers during the Crimean War. There's no British soldiers in the movie is there?

Not just me then! It is a good cure for insomnia though. Ive tried watching this supposed "classic" twice maybe three times. Sleepytime half way though every time!

Its an anti-war nature documentary masquerading as a "war film".

LOL. I was in college when this came out and we went to see it. I had a hard time staying awake.

Now about 15 years later and older, I enjoy it.

This won't be the criterion master will it?

I received my copy of this film.

I am planning on watching it for the first time as it is a blind buy. Is it a good film anyone?

Thanks

Saw this over the weekend for the first time and i thought it was a awesome/beautiful film. Well put together from start to finish. A+ in my books

Glad i ordered this steelbook!

But i will say that this film is not for everyone, it is not your typical war film.
