"Son of God" is just so unpredictable, but all it is just a edited version of last year's "The Bible." I told a few people the last few days and they were shocked.

Indeed.
I don't even consider this a film.
Not that it ever ever ever ever ever would be nominated for an Oscar but I don't even know if it could be considered for considered since its not even a real movie.
Just episodes of a tv show strung together .
Shameful it's being released theatrically and wasting screens.

Go ahead, might be more enjoyable that way too.

having watched The Bible mini-series on Blu-Ray and enjoying it to a certain extent. Everything about it seemed overly ambitious for the budget. Many sets looked hokey and the CGI cities were about SyFy original quality. I'm guessing the general public is not aware this was available on History Channel as well as DVD and Blu-Ray?

Glad I was off on Son of God. Movie looks terrible. The guy who plays Jesus looks so miscast.

Too close to call right now. Per NikkiFinke:

Non-Stop $27 million and Son of God $26 million for the weekend. No doubt that would not be the end result as...Son of God will make a big push on Sunday .
Thus, Son of God will trump Neeson.

Both movies with A- Cinemascores.

So much for people expecting Son of God to crash and burn. As Blu Titan said, expect SoG to get a boost on Sunday, what with church congregations talking about by tickets in bulk.

1. Non-Stop: $10 million
2. Son of God: $9.4 million
3. The Lego Movie: $4.4 million
4. The Monuments Men: $1.4 million
5. 3 Days to Kill: $1.4 million

Despite middling reviews, Neeson’s cat-and-mouse thriller Non-Stop pulled in $10 million on Friday to take the No. 1 spot. While this is a weaker opening than Neeson’s last action outing, 2012′s Taken 2, the film earned an A- CinemaScore from audiences, which should help push it to a better-than-expected $30 million take for the weekend and proves that Neeson’s appeal to fans of old-school action movies shows no sign of stopping. Not bad for a guy who’ll turn 62 this year.

Adapted from the smash History Channel series The Bible, Son of God took in $9.4 million on Friday, which puts it on track for an estimated $26 to $28 million opening weekend.

Despite being pushed out of the top spot, everything is still pretty awesome for The Lego Movie. The animated hit is continuing to perform strongly and will pass $200 million at the domestic box office this weekend.
