I only ask because if there is a lot of action on the screen don't you miss out on some of the movie by having to read during the whole thing?
I've watched this movie a handful of times, and the subtitles never detracted from my viewing experience.

Since this release will have Kim Jee Woon's approval, this may only have the International Cut since that is essentially his Director's Cut. Will Zavvi's release only have the Theatrical Cut? Depending on who gets what, I'm still sticking with my Zavvi preorder until we get more news about PA's release since I already have the U.S. BD of the International Cut.

Yes, they do and it's actually the director's preferred cut. Usually the U.S. gets butchered versions of foreign films that have multiple cuts so it was a welcome surprise that we got the definitive cut in the states. That being said, the theatrical cut isn't bad by any means and it would be nice to have both cuts. Hope this release has both of them.

had placed an order for the Zavvi version on this as a blind buy, but thinking I will have to cancel that one and shift over to Plain given how great the Wrestler package was... hoping this 3rd entry will follow suit

Thanks neoz for the info that its on netflix as well, will have to give it a watch in the interim as I have heard good things

I'd stick with the preorder until we get full specs of both or either but that's just me.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the heads up, OP! I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread. Now I know about Plain Archive! Just ordered The Wrestler full slip and the Melancholia poster, and I can't wait for this one. This film is one of my favorites.

I'm definitely falling in love with Plain Archive now. Their designs and work on packaging is stellar and the movies they plan on releasing are all ones I love.

I really don't understand people who can't read subs. Is it laziness or just stupidity? Dubs always suck!

I sure as hell enjoyed Akira better with the first English dub...

To each their own...

Dubbed Anime/Animation is ok in my book, but dubbed movies are an abomination, they always look and sound terrible. I bought Hard Boiled on DVD years ago not knowing at the time it was dub only I couldn't even watch it was so bad
