Well I guess none of the films should be called Godzilla, or whatever other monster, and just be named after the lead actor/actress.

It was pretty enjoyable, I can't really see myself wanting to watch it again though.

The second act is fairly boring, but apart from that it was a well-made disaster/monster movie with some mind-blowing visuals.

Day 1 buy for me. I really enjoyed it being a fan of Godzilla films since I was a kid. I was having a hard time containing my joy when
[Show spoiler] Godzilla's tail lit up before he did his atomic breath.
Plus the blu-ray won't include annoying teenagers adding background noise/dialogue throughout the movie.

Everyone who dislikes the movie is replied to in a condescending manner questioning their taste and saying they don't enjoy the other Godzilla films or all they want is explosion-a-minute Transformers. There's nothing wrong with a slow burn movie, but to those people it wasn't that.

That's a funny interview.
The ironic, unrelated, part is that his character in the film
[Show spoiler]never saw Godzilla or even knew about his existence.

'Godzilla' ties with 'Captain America 2' as my favorite movie (so far) in 2014. The Booth Bijou gives it 5 out of 5 stars. The PERFECT blend of story, drama and action. I read some of the complaints about too little screen time for the title character BEFORE I went to the movie so I went in expecting just that. I came out of the movie thinking, what the heck are these people talking about? Did they see a different movie?

A most excellent summer blockbuster POPCORN FLICK! It will be a day one buy for me on Blu-ray (provided I can purchase it for under $20) and we'll be showing it in the Booth Bijou Garage Theater.

BTW, perhaps my impression of the movie was swayed by the absolutely stunning theater we saw it in? 50-foot curved screen that spanned wall to wall and nearly floor to ceiling. Dolby ATMOS and Meyer Sound EXP with 36 surround sound speakers (including two rows across the ceiling). Here's a photo of the wall plaque outside the theater:

THAT is the way to see and experience 'Godzilla'!!

I wonder if there'll be some deleted scenes or an extended version at all. I remember hearing some cameo was cut, so it makes me wonder what else was cut and saved for possible use on bluray in one of those ways....

From the sound of it, at the very least we can expect some deleted scenes to be included, but potentially an extended cut too.

Legendary Pictures founder, and Godzilla producer Thomas Tull lsays this:

Quote:
Chris Mirjahangir: Will there be an extended cut of this (Godzilla) on the DVD/Blu-ray?

Thomas Tull: Yes

Mirjahangir: Like Peter Jackson style where it's all blended in together?

Tull: Well, that's really Gareth's choice. There are certainly some scenes and things you're gonna see, and it's up to him how he wants to present that to fans.

I figured deleted scenes and probably a making of feature would be included but an extended cut is always a bonus as well.

Akira Takarada, who was in the 1954 original and various other Godzilla films, filmed a cameo for the new film. Unfortunately, it was cut, so I also hope it makes the Blu-ray.

The Sh*T you say?!! I can't believe this?!!! I did not know this as I have yet to see the film (hopefully tomorrow) but that was one of the little easter eggs I was looking forward to!! They cut him?! I think he was a customs agent or something at an airport in the film..this upsets me. I hope it does make it to the blu-ray release.

Yeah, he was supposed to play a customs agent. I'm sure they'll include his scenes on the Blu.
