The not knowing what this $14.99 DVD is was killing me so I fired off an e-mail to the customer service department of the site. Hopefully I'll get a response and that it's clear as to what the disc is.

Well I heard back from customer service, not much help really as it was to vague, the reply was that the mix was the same as on the blu-ray. I would think it would naturally be the same mix but since there was no mention of resolution I guess I still can only assume it's just a legacy Dolby Digital version of the 24/96 Blu-ray.

So frustatring to not get a clear answer.

The more I read the description of the box set contents the more I interpret what's on the Blu-ray as being a high resolution version of the album which will be in stereo and this 5.1 mix may very well be just legacy dolby or dts.

Not to long to wait now I guess until we know for sure.

DVD is a coaster ... We really want to know about the BLU Disc. I wish someone could confirm the BLU disc details. I can't imagine it wouldn't be what the immersion sets included for audio options.

We'll know soon enough since it comes out next week I believe. It's got to be DTS as well if the DVD is.

Didn't say. But 1510kbps DTS is still pretty good. Although I'd prefer DTS 96/24, DTS 48/24 is better than Dolby Digital. So I'm happy with the news.

The blu-ray has 5.1 96/24 DTS-HDMA and PCM (and has begun shipping in the box sets):

Well that settles that.

To bad these people who decided to use the DVD-V format for this standalone release weren't smart enough to know that if they had gone MLP i.e. DVD-A which makes use of DVD-V discs the exact same resolution could have been used as the Blu-ray. There would have been enough room on the disc for both the high resolution stereo and high resolution surround mixes as is the case with so many of all DVD-A discs released.

Well, I can only hope that the 5.1 mix eventually shows up in a standalone high resolution release of some sort.

FWIW I read on Amazon why there isn't any unreleased material (and in fact why there have been no further "Immersion" releases) has to do with the band's publishing situation and that we're not likely to see anything until at least 2016 when those rights are taken over by WB. Major bummer there, but makes sense given the situation with Parlophone being taken over by Warner.

That is ridiculous. Hopefully at some point we will get a stand alone release with the high resolution 5.1 mix. I will wait.

Got my set from Amazon today. Thrilled it was shipped much like the Immersion sets. The Box set already in a cardboard box that Amazon put in their shipping box. Pics Below sorry Not great pics and I won't open it until I get home this evening. (At work now )

The Box Set is a bit taller than Previous Immersion Box Sets

This new Box Set is thru Parlophone / Warner Bros Records so not sure what other hold ups there would be for further releases.

The Box Set seems to be the same exact size as the Previous Immersion Box Set.
