Extended cut comes next year. I'm waiting for that assuming it's 3D.
Oh what to do? I didn't see the movie in the cinema so i'm obviously really keen to see it now, however i would really want to get the extended cut. It'll be really difficult holding out till next year to see the movie, yet i'm not crazy about buying the theatrical cut, only to have to double dip

I'll only get the extended edition if it's in 3d.

You could always just rent the theatrical edition when it releases online from iTunes/Google Play/Amazon etc. and hold off until the extended Blu-ray release?

Geez, seems like at least 50% of the best native, live 3D gets milked with extended cuts. I suppose I'll wait too. I'd love to see the Rogue cameo. Thanks for posting that.

An extended cut would be interesting in 3D. Not sure if I'll get the extended as the film felt complete as is. I still have to watch my Wolverine extended cut in 2D on the 3D blu ray deluxe set. I'll have to put that in blu ray player now and get started on that. With this though, it's very likely the extended cut will be in 3D for the fact this was filmed in 3D, and not post converted like Wolverine was.

The filmed 3D here was very well done. That slow motion scene in the metal room is a MUST see in 3D.

Thing is I would like my first viewing to be in 3D ideally. I don't do streaming on my laptop either and can't watch stuff i stream on my tv so it wouldn't really be that good for me. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I remember watching this in 3D in theatres and not really being all that impressed with it, kinda want to get the 3D version for home viewing anyway but I'm thinking of saving money and going 2D.

I'm in the same boat on that one. I can't get myself to watch the 2D extended disc since my wife and I really enjoyed that one in 3D.

Yeah, it's tough to go back to 2D after watching the 3D most times. I have some other movies in the players, but I'll get around to it soon to see what was added.

A lot of shots in X-Men Days of Future Past are well planned and thought out for the 3D.

I agree with Zivouhr's logicial assertion that seeing as the movie was shot in 3D and extended cut should also be in 3D. It would be nice to have it confirmed soon by Fox though. Ideally BEFORE the release of the theatrical cut so some of us can decide whether to wait or not (although who am i kidding, i'm gagging to see this movie so doubt I'd be able to wait till next year).

That's good to hear, I think that's a day 1 purchase for me

Received my 3D set this morning.

There is a trailer for Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods & Kings that plays just before the menu starts up. Wow, the 3D in Exodus looks awesome.

I reckon it's 50/50 as to whether the EE will be 3D. I know it was shot native, but that doesn't simply mean that they can drop the scenes into the edit and be done with it. If the scenes weren't graded as part of the original 3D post-production pipeline (I doubt they were) then Fox might yet cheap out and do it in 2D only. Still, they might even do a limited theatrical release for it to promote Apocalypse, so following through with the 3D finish would make sense all round.

Just watched this, Film was fantastic but the 3D was largely underwhelming. The odd shot was ok, but I was very surprised to hear this was shot in 3D.

The quality of the layering is what make it obviously native.

This movie was fantastic and I thought the 3D was very good and very natural looking.

Personally I think the last 2 X-men films blow all the other Marvel films out of the water completely.
