I enjoyed this one, but I won't be rushing out to buy it. I do agree, however, that there is a wealth of other WB/Paramount titles that I'd have preferred to get first.

When I first saw this film, I thought it had the makings of a grand horror masterpice, and it it delivered for the first three quarters, then the fourth quarter of the film kicked in, .......and I have not been able to respect Lawrence Kasdan after that.

Not going to lie, I love Christopher Walken, but The Dead Zone did nothing for me - I hardly even remember it.

(Now that I think about it, unfortunately the movie was ruined for me by those awesome parodies of it they did on SNL! )

Happy for those who love it but following the announcement of The Flintstones, I'm kind of scratching my head how they decide what to release.
This film hardly set the movie-world alight.

So many great movies being left in the vault in favour of mediocre ones.

I wasn't able to respect Lawrence Kasdan after "Grand Canyon", and now, in retrospect, realize "The Accidental Tourist" should have been my first warning. (There's an hour of theater time I'd love to get back.) He went midlife-crisis back when he created the Steve Martin/Joel Silver character in Canyon, we're never getting the cool Empire/Raiders 80's version back, and I have the proverbial Bad Feeling about SW Episode VII.

That said, I keep hearing worst-of-the-year critic reviews of "Eww, ick!", but the only scenes the reviews ever showed was that one where all the animals run past the cabin. ("The Tasmanian Devil's on the loose!")
And I kept thinking, "Well, how bad could it be?" Can someone give me some safe hints?

That toilet alien scene (IMO the best part) will forever stay in my memory. Awesomely weird, disgusting, cool movie moment.

I absolutely LOVE this movie. When I first saw it at the theater I was a bit torn, but after a couple more viewings at home over the years something about it just clicked. Totally bizarre, like two different movies, and with a great ensemble of soon-to-be big name actors.

The DVD always looked very nice, and I salivate thinking about how the Blu will look (and sound).

Trust me, if ever there was a movie not to blind-buy, this is that movie. The first hour isn't too bad, but then the movie flies off the rails in the most outrageous manner by the end. I beg you to rent it first, and this is coming from a massive Stephen King fan!

I LOVE this film ! I love the snowy atmosphere, the creatures, my favorite scene has this man who has the creatures inside him and he keeps farting and burping.. (well I think its funny anyway)
But in all seriousness I do really enjoy this, it held my attention all the way through - I like the creatures in this, and the characters were all interesting to me - it is cheap enough for a blind buy... But as always when in doubt , rent !
