I have to take issue with "Blu-ray discs are more expensive to produce". Okay, a BD50 costs more than an HD30, but surely an HD51 would be more expensive to produce than a BD50? Readers of their statement might assume it means the triple layer HD DVD would provide a lower cost way of achieving approx 50GB storage when I doubt very much that is the case.

I don't think Disney's vote means anything, voting in the same way as the HD DVD supporters is no different to abstaining in this case.

That entire post has a RED tint to it. I'm going to search for additional sources.

Let's fact it, the only reason the average schmuck is going to pay more for Blu is if Blu has more studios releasing on it, any other advantages are lost on Joe 6-Pack. If Warner goes Blu exclusive then bye bye HD DVD. If Disney goes neutral then Blu-ray is in real trouble, and IMO Blu would not recover from that.

Just be careful of fud articles. Disney has just had an interview burning HD-DVD and they are doing the 'I do blu' marketing. Disney going neutral wont happen.

All I can think about is how much the Paramount move still stings. Blu-ray had better sales and they just announced they were gonna use more of what Blu-ray can do on their future releases. It was completely unexpected and completely illogical (except for the $150 million) when Paramount did it. Anything can happen.

Isn't New Line neutral?
"HD DVD is supported by New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. Studios, whereas Sony Pictures, Walt Disney, Warner Bros. and Twentieth Century Fox endorse Blu-ray."

New Line are neutral in favour of Blu Ray. They release their movies months in advance of their HD-DVD releases.

I wish people were alittle more careful of what they post.

Ok I just read the article and it's obviously BS.

It's biased to hell if you look at the New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. part.

Also, maybe disney voted for the 51gb disc because they know that these will need completely new players to play and hddvd would die if all the current users had to buy new players just to play any upcoming discs.

HD DUD supporters never get tired or searching for hope that Disney will go to HD DUD but Disney is a major supporter of Blu Ray and has no plans to release on HD DUD.

They are part of the DVD forum which votes on various stuff regarding DVD and including HD DUD non-sense. So a vote comes up and they vote,.. if you think that means they are going over to HD DUD then you're welcome to that theory but personally I don't think so.

Sling posted on this yesterday ... "Disney dropped there vote in September fellow members...This is old new lol.
That articles purpose...spread confusion the consumers direction trying to put BR in a bad light before Black Friday.
Reality check...
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.ph...63&postcount=1"

The article is red fud because the vote it's referring to is old news from early september! You can stop this thread now as it only helps spread fud.
