Sony haven't dropped the ball on this one. They did a great job with the blu-ray.

The reason some scenes are grainier than others is because grain becomes more visible/pronounced in darker areas of the image. It's completely normal.

Thumbs up

GB Hi-Fi has reduced their prices on all of the Karate Kid releases. Around £11 shipped to the UK is a great price for part III. I have ordered a few titles from GB Hi-Fi and have been impressed with the ease of purchasing and the dispatch/delivery times.

Indeed, my apologies. But I must say there are so many KK threads (especially about KK3) -and therefore a pain to get through them to decide on which you should post or not- that I got lost... And this one seemed one of the most popular ones.
(but I certainly would clean all that up if I was a moderator)

No need to apologise, it just thought it might be better served posted in other related threads in higher traffic areas of the site.

In case anyone missed member Ruckus01's post in the local bargain thread, The Karate Kid Part III & The Next Karate Kid are both currently on sale for $9.98 each at JB HiFi.

European version (at least German for definite) has a slightly higher bitrate of 24920 kbps, whether that translates to better picture quality is debatable:

Codec Bitrate Description
----- ------- -----------
MPEG-4 AVC Video 24920 kbps 1080p / 23,976 fps / 16:9 / High Profile 4.1

AUDIO:

Codec Language Bitrate Description
----- -------- ------- -----------
DTS-HD Master Audio English 3787 kbps 5.1 / 48 kHz / 3787 kbps / 24-bit (DTS Core: 5.1 / 48 kHz / 1509 kbps / 24-bit)

Anyone looking for Karate Kid on Blu-ray should just get the Collection with I to IV from Italy, dirt cheap and included in sales recently. Get the Jackie Chan one separately if needed.

You can buy them individually locally except for Part III which hasn't been available here on blu-ray for a very long time.

As others have said above. Best bet would be to import the complete box set if you want all the movies.
