300 - 5/5
Watchmen - 5/5 Dawn of the Dead - 4/5 Legend of the Guardians 1.5/5 Man of Steel - 1.5/5 Sucker Punch 1/5 All his PG/PG-13 flicks are awful. Just doesn't suit his style. I'll pay attention to him again should he ever return to R-rated fair. |

I truly don't understand the Snyder hate at all... to me he's miles ahead of the director's people lump him with (Michael Bay, etc.).
Even the movies of his that I didn't love (300, Dawn of the Dead) are still entertaining. Man of Steel to me is one of the best super hero movies out there. |

Watchmen - 4/5
Dawn of the Dead 4/5 300 - 4/5 Legend of the Guardians - 3.5/5 Sucker Punch - 2.5/5 Man of Steel - 2/5 I like Snyder a lot. I think he's actually a very stylistic director, and it makes his films very visually appealing. The last two films are lower rated, but his direction in the films was fine. It was the scripts that were both of their undoings. |

Actually, I haven't seen a superhero film theatrically since the summer of 2013. So as you can tell, I don't hold the genre in high regard. When it comes to the cinema these days, I generally spend my money on indies and foreign films.

Its embarrassing to say, but I STILL haven't seen Man Of Steel. I've wanted to because its a superhero movie, but I'm just not a Superman fan. I'll definitely have to see it though before Batman Vs Superman .
As for the topic the only ones I've seen are Dawn Of The Dead which I loved I give it a 8/10. And the other is 300 which is OK I'd give it a 6/10. |

He pitched an idea to Nolan about Superman having to make a decision in killing Zod. If you want to hold him to that, I understand, but he directed the movie, not write the script or storyline. I think this is where people get confused. They bash on Snyder saying the story or script sucks but that's not his department. Nolan & Goyer made the script a bit messy towards the end but overall did a good job of grounding the biggest known super hero out there. Snyder did just fine as a director in MoS, which IMO, is his best directorial movie. Problems with the script of MoS? Blame others, not him. (i.e. Goyer, WB, Nolan). OK, posting before reading the responses. Don't want to be influenced.
-- Sucker Punch: Inventive, different, fun, and had some really weird $#%& going on. -- Watchmen: I honestly was convinced they would never be able to come anywhere CLOSE to pulling this off. Snyder did one heck of a job. -- Man of Steel: Good movie. It wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be, but I still like it. -- Dawn of the Dead: An excellent update of a classic -- tough to do. It captures a good deal of the original while still adding its own elements and thus keeping its own identity. Really, of the four of his films I've seen, I've liked them all. |
