![]() I doubt it, but I wish they would put the 4K disc in the steel, even though the review on this site says there's barely any difference since the original release was near perfect to begin with. |

I already own the standard releases for all but Dr. Strangelove, which I have on Digibook (and is more than enough for me), but I might double dip if the covers are something new and true to the story, and if the steelbooks are relatively low priced. I would almost definitely get these though if they contain new video transfers (and preferably the 4K master for Taxi Driver), although it's kind of unlikely since the studios would make an announcement for new video quality releases. But in the end it really depends on how they are made. I hate that studios are jumping on the steelbook wagon. This leads to low quality releases, which aren't worth it in my opinion (flimsy, non-sturdy steel cases and non-glossy, easily scratchable covers). What Sony should be working on is releasing more catalog titles, like Panic Room (Gone Girl's release is a perfect boost for Fincher's work). The Wolf of Wallstreet U.S. Blu-ray was semi-low quality. The covers were glossy, but the image and colours were a little dull. And the steel casing was flimsy. I still got it though since it was the only worthwhile exclusive. |

![]() Hopefully that's the back art and we get a sweet drawing of a rising sun with Daniel and Miyagi. I wanted Superbad.....well, super bad, but I'm gonna have to pass because that cover is awful and doesn't represent the film at all. The police driving crazy and shooting at random crap was two scenes in the movie. They may as well have put Miroki on the cover. [Show spoiler] I do like Snatch, Dr. Strangelove, and The Fifth Element, so that's good. I like Leon as well, but already have the Kimchi steel. I'll be getting the UK Taxi Driver steel now too, since that art is pretty terrible too. ![]() Last edited by Bruisermoore; 10-04-2014 at 01:03 PM. |

These are totally unsuitable for these films -- at least for most of them. They are reasonable quality 'fan art' of sorts but do they even fit the movie? Most of them do not. I think I will probably be passing on all of them.

These are... interesting. I wonder if it was the same artist? The styles seem wildly different. Some are well suited to the movie, some not. I'll pick up Leon, if it's the same disc as the standard release I can sell my first amaray copy. Still have the Kimchi and UK 20th anniversary. Might pick up Fifth Element, have the UK steel for that too. The rest either I have, don't want, or there are international steels that I prefer.
That Taxi Driver art makes me think it should read "A Christopher Nolan Film". Can you guess why? |
