as far as i know the extended with jap voice and English subs was only released as an exclusive to JB hi-fi and its included in DVD format on this steel-book release but as i mentioned in previous post you cant get that exclusive on bluray format any longer as it was on a limited production run and sold out very fast.

but as mentioned the standard normal cut is available on 3D Bluray ..Jap voice/english sub from JB HIFI which if you get it now they are selling it on a discount price @aus $20.78 = £11 inc uk delivery with no vat to pay

as far as i am aware the German and French releases have absolutely no English support contained in them whether dubbing or subtitles....hence i never mentioned them

so yes if you only want to hear Japanese and no translating at all then go for it

Oups: forgot that the Amazon version doen't have English subtitles (since French is my primary language... My bad ) But the DDDHouse does have the Japanese extended version, with English subtitles

which basically is the same as the JB HiFi version costing £11 inc delivery while DDDHouse version is Region A Locked still only has the 115min theatrical and would cost £22.50+delivery also i am not seeing anywhere its the extended version which is included on the amazon.uk steel-book in SD on the 2nd disk DVD...(still needs confirming with a physical copy but the back cover states this on store pictures)

are you sure the one you mention comes with a longer extended cut or was you under the impression 115min was the extended cut? as far as i know 115min is the theatrical cut / 130min is the extended cut.

I owned the Aussie disc and still own the Hong Kong release, so this info isn't guess work:

1. The Hong Kong disc(s) contains the proper 115min Japanese cut in 2D and 3D. There is NO English dub, nor the shorter International version.

2. The Australian BD ONLY contains the 111min English dubbed International cut, in 2D and 3D. The proper Japanese cut was a JBHi-Fi exclusive packed in DVD. It is not included in HD whatsoever.

The Manga UK release looks to mirror the Australian release.

There is no 130min version. The 115min version is uncut, the shorter version is 111min. The Anchor Bay Australian release list the PAL running speed of 107min.

as mentioned i watched both International cut and the exclusive JB HI-FI versions last year and couldn't really tell the difference on the 2 cuts time length wise as i stated the only difference that's stood out was the English subs were a lot more descriptive than the English dubbing that had gaps and it almost seems like a completely different story.

as for the 130mins extended cut...that was my mistake and i apologize as i was looking on bluray.com's worldwide listing and was looking at a similar named item but it was not the same film but a tv series

in any case if the English steel book ends up being like the JB HIFI exclusive which sold out fast with the International cut on Blu-ray and extended on dvd i will still buy it.

for me hongkong version is way too expensive and region locked A which while i have a regionfree player i cant watch the 3d

You need to go around the protection somehow otherwise you don't get bitrates from BDinfo.

Seems cheap with a BD25 for a 2h movie + extras on the HK disc even if it's animation So sad I can't buy the super deluxe JP boxset since no eng subs

Hmm, I'm encountering a weird picture glitch around the 49 minute mark;



Seems intermittent, glitches out for a few frames and then goes back to normal. Happened 3 or 4 times so far between 49 and 51 mins - could be a dodgy disc I guess, anyone else getting anything like this?
