That's not the point I'm making. How does one go about legitimately supporting super sentai in the US, if not this release? It took this long to release a 23 year old show from japan. If shout doesn't release more, who will?

Why support physical media at all, if supporting the art isn't actually very important to you?

I'd rather have nothing than something poorly done!

In fact, I done have nothing instead of a poorly done something!

I deleted my ZyuRanger when it was announced that we'd be getting an official release.

I'm also positive that you've seen ZyuRanger and the other series through Fansubs yourself, so don't get all "High and Mighty"

Because there was no available release. There is now. No excuses any more.

I assume if shout release dairanger and you have the files, you will delete them as well? Although this

I use to download the subs. It was the only way I could watch them. I did buy the official Ohranger DVDs though, but at nearly $60 a disc, that's too expensive for me. I ended up selling them on eBay. I am wanting to get the US releases though, just haven't found the time to spend the extra $40 on them with bills and such. Is there any online stores that sell them any less than $35? I understand the newer releases, but Zyuranger is over a year old, would like to find it a little cheaper so I can get the others as well.

MMPR
Zyuranger

Looks like they already restored the Zyuranger Series in HD.
Or is it a SD restoration made for the DVD set?

Default Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger: The Complete Series DVD

They do look like new transfers for those on the DVDs, no idea if it was in HD or not. Shout have no say in it though, they have to use what Toei give them, but thankfully that has also led to them having to use Toei high bitrate encodes for video and audio, vs. how much Shout crammed into the PR discs. They’re essentially the same as the Japanese discs I believe just with changed menus, idents and the addition of subs.

Since there are no other threads, are they doing Dekaranger and Boukenger onward on Blu-ray? Maybe Gorenger when they get to it?

Is Deka where the Japanese Blu's start for Sentai (I know they have gone back and released Goranger since) but is every series since Deka on Blu?

Are those upscales though? I thought the first shot in HD was Boukenger.

Now, I know the earlier shows can be rescanned in true HD but they were edited on tape from Carranger onwards.

I believe you are right about Boukenger being the first shot in HD.

Not sure about the image quality for Deka and others though.

Was Dekaranger shot on film, but edited on video? They might have had the workprints and reedited the episodes in HD.

Oddly since Boukenger, Gekiranger, and Goseiger were shot in HD and broadcast as such. No Blu-ray exist. They started Blu-ray releases with Gokaiger (series of 12 volumes, then Ninninger, series of 4 collections) Meaning they never got Blu-ray and still don't. Dekaranger and Go-onger only got Blu-ray releases to tie in their respective 10 YEARS AFTER films, which were shot in HD and released on Blu-ray.

Looking at the previous two pages. The quality is fine. Subtitles seems fine to me. Shout! try their best of what they're provided from Toei. It's not Shout! it's Toei. Heck they are problems with Jetman's frame rate (i think?) and that was on the Toei DVDs and is what Toei sent over to Shout! and they had to work with it. Oh well.
