I don't know if it uses the 4K scan but it doesn't use the way outdated mpeg-2 codec other releases have. If you're a fan of this movie, it's available at a great price with some nice goodies inside and region-free.

Your pics aren't showing up for me. If they are taken from the cover, you should know by now that this isn't a reliable way to confirm the specs, they should be taken directly from the disc .

Apparently it's not from a 4K scan, a member contacted the distributor about it a month or so ago. Also, I mentioned the French and Japanese discs in my previous post, they are not MPEG-2 encodes, the French is VC-1 and the Japanese is AVC, and both have lossless audio as well, therefore if you are a fan of the movie you could have picked these up long before now . The new U.S set is also AVC, but doesn't have a lossless track.

Most definitely, as should the specs printed on covers also be taken with a grain of salt. I know you know this, so that's not for your reference.

I don't consider myself naive to false advertising but instances of BD covers incorrectly stating specs are not as prevalent as you are leading on.

I'm sorry but this is nonsense, it happens all the time, I can provide plenty of examples. Based on the size of your collection listed, your experiences with this would be much less than mine. The old disc has a DTS-HD HR 7.1 track, yes for this release it says DTS-HD MA 7.1 on the cover and the distributors listing, but this could easily be a mistake. It's even stated by this site to make sure the specs come from the disc itself when entering them into the database. At the end of the day, do you want to be responsible for misleading members, where they may decided to purchase something based on the info you provide, which could turn out to be inaccurate

I have much more than what I've listed in my collection. Look, I find your tone in these posts at me rather rude and condescending and I don't care to get caught up in a spat about this release. I'm merely trying to help, even having translated a German customer review about the disc, which mentioned the lossless audio and the posters included before other reputable sources provided visual examples. But I digress. I'm not forcing anyone to buy this release, I'm just trying to be of help while the price for it is quite nice.
