I don't want to burst your bubble but I'm pretty sure that's the DVD set. There hasn't been a swagless edition released here yet to my knowledge. Our DVD set features the same art as the standard US Blu-ray release:

I would be mindful of what you're buying. If it does turn out to be a standard release that's been released without notice then great but I wouldn't be surprised if you find what they get for you is actually the DVD set. The price certainly matches what the DVD set was.

What's happened with this? I contacted my local JB store and they said it's already been deleted.

That's because it's a Limited Edition. They can't order more from the distributor. That means that either all stores have sold out or that the handful of copies in stores around Australia (if there are any) are all that's left.

Your only other bet might be Sanity. They sold out on pre-orders prior to release (as did EzyDVD and Done Dirt Cheap DVD) but maybe some stock got through to stores.

By the way Flash3000, what ended up happening with yours? Was it the DVD version as I suspected?

Well, directly from Warner Bros:

Unfortunately due to overwhelming demand we are now out of stock of all box sets for the Batman 1960s TV series and at this stage there aren't any plans to go into reproduction. Your best bet is to go directly to Sanity or JB Hi-Fi as they may still have some stock available in certain stores.
In other words, best of luck if you can find it in store. If not, it looks like importing is now your only option.

There's no mention of plans to release the non-limited edition which I guess answers my question to Flash3000.

Atexp80,

It seems you were right. That other guy must have got the DVD version. Mine ended up being the BluRay version with the car and cards etc etc. I asked them to give me the 20% off that was available when I ordered it but had finished by the time it was delivered to my local store. They obliged and it cost me $136AUD. The show looks brilliant but it would have to be the worst bonus features I have EVER seen in a box set.

BTW, did you get any UV code? I didn't, unless it's somewhere in the box I haven't noticed yet.

IIRC it was a blatant case of false advertising.

I'd say it was just Warner Aus copying the packaging from the US. They did the same with Man of Steel (coloured disc art on the back, b/w in reality).

Good to hear you got the limited set, and no, no UV code. The blue strip at the top of the box doesn't mention it like the US one does even though the early pre-order art did.

I would love to know why warner in australia made this a limited edition, but meanwhile you can buy it freely overseas? A Marketing decision? Does not make any sense.

It IS a limited edition elsewhere. 95,000 total worldwide. We've sold out, the UK has sold out.

Other countries have or are receiving the swagless version. There's been no word as to whether we will get that but there's a very obvious reason why we may not. The limited edition may have sold well because it's exactly that: limited. Flooding the market with additional copies or standard versions may not have resulted in any significantly larger number of sales, just a lot of sets sitting on shelves.

I asked one of the JB Hi-Fi stores in Sydney CBD that I regularly frequent and according to them, we're supposed to be getting the standard sets in March.

Interesting. I had flicked WB an email a while back about it and the response I got was that they "had no plans" to release it. Might have changed though. I guess only time will tell.

Indeed.

I neglected to mention that when I was informed of that March release by JB Hi-Fi, they also mentioned about there being 'problems' with a couple of very minor things missing (which we're hearing about endlessly in the international forums here) and these 'problems' were being sorted out for that supposed pending release.

Make of it what you will. But I cannot see why it wouldn't be released here later on given the huge, worldwide popularity of this legendary series and the fact that JB's have been overwhelmed with requests for it. Plus, it's through Warner Bros and they seem release their stuff just about everywhere most of the time.

I received my replacement discs over a month ago

I'd contact Warner directly. That's what I did. When I first got wind of the international replacement program, I emailed to ask about it, and they said they'd send them to me when they had them. And I got them.

Yes - I got mine last week for a US set purchased at Amazon after emailing: ConsumerCare@roadshow.com.au

Seems like Roadshow have taken over Sales/Distribution locally for Warner Home Ent. since the beginning of the year according to the re-direct email I received when I contacted Warner initially.

Ah crap, Roadshow. never had dramas with Warner Bros customer service but I've sure had plenty with Roadshow.

Wish they'd release the shelf friendly version that doesn't look a board game in Australia.
