"and several hypotheses that Einstein was never able to prove" - I think they're talking about his attempt to unify gravity with electromagnetism, which he never did

So much for all this crap I've heard about the sound mix. I went to see the film for the first time yesterday, and the sound was perfect (and absolutely incredible). I didn't have trouble hearing anything.

Yeah I enjoyed the audio of the movie. McConaughey's dialogue was a little quiet at times, but I chalked that up to him mumbling all the time.

If it's the same everywhere, I just hope Paramount is doing the transfer. WB has done a pretty lackluster job on the 35mm portions of Nolan's films (TDKR fares quite well, but even it is a bit softer than it should be).

There was nothing wrong with the sound. Just people trying to find something to whine about as usual.

If so, that's a pretty obtuse statement to put there. I didn't see a whole lot about electromagnetism and gravity. I DID see quite a bit about gravity and time dilation in the movie, which is what the GTOR is all about.

I absolutely hope it does have shifting AR! It was glorious in 15/70 IMAX, although the one downside to watching it that way was the fact the 35mm anamorphic footage was very soft compared to that shot in IMAX (naturally, but you rarely get a chance to compare the two side by side on full quality IMAX film, I was surprised at how easy it was to tell).
The sound mix was sometimes a little odd as people have mentioned, and at times it was very loud/heavy on the bass, but I am not one to complain, simply because it's obvious this was the way it was intended to be seen (I saw it in the London BFI IMAX). Last edited by Piro; 12-05-2014 at 09:19 AM. |

This is easily my favorite Christopher Nolan movie yet. I could see how people who are bored by science or space exploration would find the movie unwatchable. There was a couple of times I thought the music was a little too loud and over bearing but it didn't interfer with dialog.

As for my personal opinion on AR's for this, I'd love it if the disc gave the option to let you select from three different ones (2.35/1.78, 2.35 and 2.20). Makes everyone happy. It isn't that hard to do something like that on a disc, is it?

Let's hope we get some cool space time features on release rather than hoping for a double-dip special edition later in the future.
