I have a definite interest in this. Love stop motion animation and settings involving Feudal Japan. Plus the voice cast and other talent they have on board (Dario Marianelli is doing the score while Roger Deakins has been listed as a visual consultant) show that might just be something special.

I think boxtrolls has a certain charm to it. This just looks like a whole other level of awesome though. My second most anticipated film this year behind Doctor Strange.

Unless they have the Pixar logo, animated movies really don't seem to bring that much attention on here.

I'm under the impression there's no buzz at all for this movie ... It's very high on my watch list, but is it me or is the promotion and anticipation for this one much lower than was the case wit Paranorman or The Boxtrolls? I don't think this is a movie that should be released in the summer, too much big ones out there. It doesn't feel like one also.

I've seen the trailer dozens of times in the theater. Paranorman came out in August also, that did decently.

I haven't seen the trailers once in theaters, not even in front of other animated movies. But I was talking in general ... Social media, fora, movie-related sites, ... Not much out there about this. Unfortunately. I hope it does well. Laika is one of my favorite studios.

I see the trailers every so often but it does seem their media/advertising campaign in general is pretty light.

I actually loved The Boxtrolls. But this looks stunning.

My girlfriend saw an advanced screening to Kubo a couple of weeks ago (her friend won tickets) and she was greatly impressed by it. I expected it to be good, but I was surprised she was so taken by it. She is a fan of Coraline and has enjoyed Laika's other films but she hasn't loved them the way she has Coraline. Looking forward to seeing it soon for myself.

The reviews are looking pretty good so far. Hopefully they continue. I probably shouldn't get my hopes up just yet, but this looks like it will be a couple of steps above Boxtrolls.

Love the shamisen version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and Regina Spektor seems a good fit on vocals.
