Pre-order at amazon.ca for this is $12.71 (barely $10.50US).

That's less than half of the shipping cost alone to Canada from TCM. No brainer for people outside of the U.S..

I'll throw another disc in the order and I'll get free shipping (free shipping from amazon.ca is still $25.00).

EDIT: Just pre-ordered LADY FROM SHANGHAI and THE WILD ONE. Total for both: $25.42CDN with free shipping. Equivalent to $20.85US at this mornings exchange rate.

Thanks for the info Dex, I ordered the Blu-ray from Amazon Canada. Also ordered the Blu-ray of "Gilda" through Amazon Canada a few weeks ago. It is the Italian version (region free) which I paid $19.13 including shipping.

Canceled my Amazon pre-order then re-ordered with The Wild One (1953) also for $8.99 just to make sure I get them for that price....even though Amazon claims you get the cheaper price. Can't wait to get these.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger, if for no other reason than to get the Bogdanovich commentary.

I would imagine this is virtually the same disk as the recent TCM one.

In 15 years of ordering DVDs and then Blu-rays from amazon, they have always honored their pre-order guarantee without exception.

I pre-order most things early and I get the lower price adjustment on something almost every week. I've got 6 discs on pre-order and 4 of them are already showing a price reduction from the price I when I ordered*. Just yesterday, I got AT THE EARTH'S CORE which shipped for $4.00 less than my initial pre-order price.

You don't have to cancel and pre-order. You're just wasting your time when you do that (and probably putting yourself at the back of line if they run out of stock).**

*I have 4 Scream double features pre-ordered. The price on every one has dropped since I placed the pre-orders. These savings now show in my invoice totalling almost $20.00!

**I pre-ordered AT THE EARTH'S CORE early from amazon.ca. They ran out of stock on release day and don't expect it again until February 3 but my copy came.

Isn't TCM the company that ruins classic films by colorizing them?

Anyway, I just ordered the Mill Creek one for $8.99 (+ tax )

Ted Turner used to colorize some movies back in the 80s, but TCM presents movies on their channel uncut and unaltered. But that has nothing to do the blu-ray anyway as the transfer would be provided by Sony which is a good sign.

Ted Turner, whose company owns TCM, stopped the colorization BS in the mid-'90s, over 20 years ago. Turner Classic Movies shows movies uncut and in their correct aspect ratio, no colorized stuff. Best TV channel for classic film buffs.

Yep, they did a lot to nurture my love of films when I was younger.

It's a great channel to check out classic titles you might like before buying instead of blind buying.

Looks like MU.com got the TCM release back in-stock. I'm not sure what one I want to order now. Btw, are there any coupon codes out there for the TCM shop? I want to place a big order with them on Mon.

Yes, my preorder with Amazon has been price adjusted already to the lower price.

I've been waiting for my replacement disc for the first copy that has been "on order" with them for months. I kind of think they got sick of replacing the first copy and having to eat the cost that they stopped pressing the corrected one and are just letting it go oop with them...

If it's in any way a copy of the TCM disc, no. They completely dropped the ball by not including the sub track that already existed on the DVD.
