Quite simply 16:9 = more sales = more chance of other shows getting this treatment.

4:3 is limiting your market, why would a company in the business of making money do that??..

16:9 is also better for TV broadcast.

I will certainly give this a shot, when the price is right of course.

You're also making it look like they didn't know how to frame a shot to save their lives. I cringe at the amount of dead space at the sides of these widescreen episodes.

"Doesn't it look more epic?"

No. It makes one of the best TV shows ever, look like it was lensed by some bumblef*** that they found off of the street.

I'll buy it, because really I don't have a choice if I want it in HD, but it should've been left 4:3, since there's zero reason to alter it except to appease idiots who think HD = 16:9 and that picture has to "fill their screen" to be any good.
Did you ignore the part of my post where I mentioned that people seem to think that the change in aspect ratio has been done quite well but still believe that it shouldn't have been altered in the first place?

Yep. Just picked one element out of context and decided to spout the same points that everyone has heard a million times. Points that I happen to agree with.

That's like me highlighting the words "changing aspect ratio is somehow okay" in your above post and then going "you think changing the aspect ratio is somehow okay!?"

I don't have the patience to go back and see if somebody has already posted the link but the director has already written at length about the 16:9 format change, explaining that whilst originally he would have preferred it to go out in its original format, he is happy with the end result and the time and effort he and others put into making sure it was done "right".

Did the Sopranos have english on the cover, and were the discs exactly the same as what was released in english speaking countries?

English on covers. Discs have nordic subtitles, so at least that could be different.

They will given it's HBO

However CDON don't ship outside Scandinavia so you will need to find another retailer there who will ship to the U.S.

I've not used Base before. Do they take money upfront or upon dispatch?
