My memory is somewhat fuzzy on a lot of it, but it seems like these are a big deal:

Grand Theft Auto 3
Grand Theft Auto 5
Red Dead Red Redemption
COD
The Last of US
Uncharted (even though I haven't played them yet)
Metal Gear Solid
Resident Evil

OK, here’s my list:

(1) Metal Gear Solid - came at the end of the PS1 but was revolutionary in how it brought video games closer to movies.

(2) Final Fantasy VII - took a Nintendo title from its competitor and showed a revolution in games with graphics and FMV, CD quality sound. Shifted a lot of consoles and popularised RPGs in the west to this day.

(3) Resident Evil - brought third person 3D horror to the mainstream, love or hate the control scheme it influenced so many games moving forward.

(4) Uncharted 2 - effectively saved the PS3, being of the greatest third person action games of all time.

(5) The Last of Us - Nearly had this at number 4, but this put Sony back on top near the end of the PS3 cycle. A revolution in game story-telling.

(6) Bloodborne - didn’t gel with me but I can’t say the ’Souls’ series isn’t massive and this game is an exclusive, much loved and still talked about. I suppose you could say Demon Souls as the start of the genre.

(7) Spiderman 2 - has sold so many PS5s and a big Marvel property with lots of fans aided by the movies, helped the PS5 cement its place as no.1.

(8) Silent Hill 2 (OG) - my favourite game of all time and its approach to story-telling, aesthetic, psychological horror - the series started on PS1 as an exclusive.

(9) God of War - the PS4/PS5 reboot, again shifted many PS5 consoles.

(10) Astro Bot - the PS5 has struggled with games at times but this GOTY and the closest to a Mario game on another console puts this in at no.10.

My list generally focuses on exclusives and it’s amazing how many game series we know and love today (many still going) started on Playstation!
