Paramount cheaped out - there is no HD version to release and since it is such an old movie, doubt they will pay to get the effects redone. This is what we are bound to get with these films until the next big leap in movies - re-releases in new cases but no new transfers or versions. You may not be able to squeexe blood from a stone but Paramount can always squeeze a few more pennies from the old Trek films.

Probably won't have that many to begin with. If it is anything like the Metalboxes that just came out most store will only have 4 to 5 or less.

Just ordered thru best buy website. Could not order it earlier in the week because it said coming soon. Also said online only if that means anything. Really pumped about this steel.

I hope the rest get the SB treatment and also have the original promo artwork.

I didn't pick up the most recent reboot SBs, primarily because I only liked the first one's original SB design (the one that was $$$) and missed out. The other SBs of this one are ugly IMO.

So is this really released TOMORROW, a SUNDAY? I checked BB today, didn't see it.

Yep, the pop art steels were released on a Sunday as well.

Sorry about that. I placed an order at the Brentwood store as soon as I seen him post that. That means they probably have them though if they only had like 3 or 4 then took it off in store pickup after I placed my order last night.
