The Legacy is another Scream Factory title that was released around the same time back in 2015 that also has it listed on the box that it's 1.85 when the disc image is actually 1.78.

So watching this again I noticed that the transfer is actually 1.78 even though it says it's 1.85 on the back of the box. Review on this site lists it as 1.78.

I have to get this movie. I think I might have seen this on VHS years back, but I am not sure. This movie sounds really cool and Shout Factory usually does a good job with their releases.

Finally got around to watching this tonight, liked it alot and a whole. The atmosphere was creepy, and the music was pretty great in that 70s early 80s way. I will say though that the lead actress acting was pretty bad and sounded like it was recorded after the fact. I've noticed this alot in 70s and 80s films. Was this a thing? Because a lot of movies from those times, sounds like the audio has been recorded later, which can make the acting seem a lot worse. Anyway I dig the film, not one of the best imo though.

The director commentary for this one is wild! The guy is talking about how he thought Sarandon kinda sucked as a leading man, how he yelled at times on set, and now he's talking about an affair he had with an extra.This is crazy.

My spooky season has started and watched this last night as a blind buy. I really enjoyed the movie. Really anything from this period is right up my alley. I was really surprise by the main actress. I had never seen her before and she really reminded me of the greats of her time like Karen Allen, Brooke Adams and Margot Kidder.

It was also fun seeing a lot of the stars from past show up in the movie and Burgess is fantastic like always.

A solid movie in the vein of Rosemary's Baby, the Exorcist, the Omen and Prince of Darkness. I'm surprised it doesn't get talked about more but I guess these type of movies were a dime a dozen back then. If i had to nitpick, I really didn't like the score at all. It was just way too big and bombastic for the subject matter.

Hoping this gets a new 4K transfer. The Shout disc is old by this point and the transfer on it is even older. Maybe have the correct aspect ratio as well.
