The new Astron-6 (filmmakers behind Manborg and Troma-produced Father's Day) film, giallo homage and probable satire The Editor, will be getting distributed by Shout! Factory imprint Scream Factory.
http://www.thewrap.com/shout-factory...tor-exclusive/ They've picked it up for broadcast, digital, home video, and even theatrical distribution. I think it's safe to say a Blu-ray release date will be announced before long, so if anyone says this belongs in the wishlist forum, so help me God... ![]() Teaser trailer ![]() Last edited by Kriztoffer Swank; 05-01-2015 at 08:49 PM. |

Father's Day is absolutely a must-see if you like absurd and nasty humor coupled with dad-rape and lots of gore.

If it's half the movie Father's Day is, it's already one of the best titles in the SF library

I have no doubts they'll deliver. I haven't watched all of the 2-DVD short films collection yet, but the shorts I have seen have all split my sides. Those guys are talented and terribly bizarre.

probably the only movie in my collection where I decided to put away the slip cover and just have it with the reverse art which fits the movie better any way. and yeah, amazon damaged my slip cover on the bottom left but even if it was mint i like the reverse art better.
watched about an hour of it last night and liked what I saw. gonna start watching it from the beginning in a few minutes. |

I liked this a lot, but it's not as funny as Manborg or Fathers Day. For me, Manborg, with the Bio-Cop trailer at the end, is by far their funniest. Still think Editor is a no-brainer for any Astron 6 fans or Italo-horror fans.

What films would you say were referenced in the most obvious way? I'd like to make sure I see them before this. TIA

Finally got around to checking this one out (found a nice cheap used copy a couple weeks ago) last night and it's instant love. Not sure if my wife would like it as much since she really doesn't get Italian horror. **** her, her loss!
![]() Anyone who put their slipcover aside, I'll buy it for a couple bucks as I didn't get one and want one now that I know the movie is a keeper. Just PM me. Turn your trash, into cash! ![]() |

Got this for about 5 bucks from a Hamilton Book sale and I feel like I committed robbery. This was amazing. It had me consistently laughing hard, it didn't shy away from gore, the purposefully terrible acting and dubbing was perfect, the cinematography and coloring was spot on, and on top of all of that, the characters in the movie were all interesting and had their own sets of unique traits.
For the first half of the movie, I was seriously considering giving this a 10/10. The pacing was great, the jokes were abundant, and the murders kept rolling in. I did feel though that at about the 1/2 or 2/3 point of the movie, the pacing slowed down, the frequency of jokes lowered (although the giallo references still stayed consistent), and it felt like it switched to strict plot development so they could actually reach the point of trying to end the movie. I also got a bit confused during the dream sequences and the ending itself (if someone could explain that to me it would be awesome [Show spoiler] ). Regardless it was still a great time and I will definitely be checking out more from this duo. I'm giving it an 8/10 for now, hopefully to bump up to a 9/10 on a rewatch.

FWIW, the disc info on dvdprofiler which has to be set from a player/reader and can't be tinkered with (except the title/description) says both the BD and DVD are dual layer. Everything else (reviews, online profiles, etc.) says dual layer. Just looked at the playing surface under the lights and see 2 inner rings with numbers on each. All this info together would make me say it is 100% dual layer.
