The only time they really did that was when the lost all the StudioCanal titles like 10 or 15 years ago. And I think they only did that because they had a sale on those titles on their webstore to move as many as they could before they had to take them OOP.

Sounds like Warner's distribution rights expired (they were only distributor AFAIK) and reverted to a French entity, whom Criterion have yet to make arrangements with.

Yeah, looks like it was produced by Truffaut's production company Les Films du Carrosse. So the rights might have gone back to his estate, which probably means that mk2 will be handling it in the future.
