I would be shocked if that happened. I'm thinking repackaged discs, with maybe the ever so slight chance of a bonus disc. Even if it doesn't, I will dip on it to show support.

I like consolidating too, but I don't think I will do that for Korra. The four volumes look quite nice on the shelf and I'm sure this will only add to the beauty.

Based off the press release the only thing "new" will be " selections from The Legend of Korra: The Art of the Animated Series as a special gift with purchase." That could mean a little preview book or art cards? I'm not sure. The Blu-ray version is also being labeled as a Limited Edition.

Yeah I always hate myself for not getting into Avatar sooner (believe it or not there was a time when I thought it looked stupid until one of my friends "forced" me to watch it by buying me season 1 lol) but the one good thing about waiting so long to get into it is that by the time I finished Avatar, Legend of Korra was right around the corner, so it did feel like a genuine continuation of the universe.

I'm not saying that this applies to everyone that doesn't like Legend of Korra, but there's no denying there are a lot of people out there that dislike it simply because "it's not The Last Airbender". At least some people I know, anyway.

I looked on YouTube and Google and couldn't find the answer, but does anyone know if the non-U.S. Korra complete Blu-ray had all eight discs in one case, or is it just just the four Books packed put into a slipbox (kind of like the Last Airbender DVD)?

I'm assuming (and hoping) it's the former.

Just went to see if there is any pre-order up for the whole series and I see that today's Best Buy Deal of The Day is Books 1-4 in a bundle together for 49.99 +tax. Not a bad deal if you want to watch it and don't want to wait 2 months but I'll hold off. That cover art is too nice!

Unlikely, as the source files were done in SD (in 480i) and since there are no easy way to re-scan the show in 1080p (as the animation was done in a mix of hand-drawn and digital work), Nick would have to redo pretty much everything in HD if they wanted to release ATLA on blu.

An upscale could work, though with the PQ problems the DVDs had, Nick would have to do a lot of cleanup work to make the episodes look as good as they can instead of just simply upscaling it.
