I just recently picked up this film and gave it a shot and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is definitely aimed at teens, which might be part of the reason I enjoyed it so much (barely out of that age range). I enjoyed both Nat Wolfes performance and Cara's and the film, like the book, actually carried a message throughout the film about the human problem of over-romanticizing and idealizing people. Glad I picked this one up and I recommend it to anyone just looking for a fun pic!

She's much better in this film, but still pretty flat. And of course it made a lot of money. It's based on a YA novel. |

I noticed something funny when watching this last night and I'm surprised that I didn't notice it before as I have watched this movie many times.
Towards the end, after Q has found Margot and after they've had their conversation over milkshakes they say their farewells by the bus that Q gets on. After they kiss and Q makes his way to the bus we have a shot of Margot looking at him. If you look on the far left of the frame in the background you can see a female extra waiting for her cue to start walking in the background. She goes to take a step, then pauses as if she's not sure she should be walking yet, then she carries on walking in the background. I can't believe I didn't notice it before but now I have, it's really obvious lol. This is approximately an hour and thirty six minutes into the movie. I'm surprised it got missed in the edit. It's something i'll never be able to unsee every time I watch Paper Towns now! This is a great movie though, I really love it. |

After how well TFIOS did, obviously Paper Towns under-performed, but I hope that doesn't scare them off of adapting more John Green. Paper Towns was a solid movie, but after TFIOS, the bar was set too high. The only other Green novel that could reach it would be Looking for Alaska.

This is one of my favourite teen/ coming of age movies ever. I think it's absolutely fantastic. I really identify with the main theme and with Q's character, it reminds of being back in school/ college. I think it's beautifully put together and acted and I love the soundtrack.

I recommend Sing Street, and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl if you haven’t seen them already. Last edited by BallistikBluray; 02-16-2018 at 11:07 PM. |
