Have you seen gameplay of this game? I'm going to assume you haven't. There are no dinosaurs in this game.

Yeah, I know. I was trying to make a comparison between games with similarities. Primal has big wooly mammoths and sabretooth tigers. Horizon has mecha dinos. Similar game ideas.

Hope that clears things up

The only thing is that I am SUPER burnt out on open world games. Nearly everything is open world and bloated. I find myself getting bored and losing interest at the 30/40 hour mark.
Wild the game is to be available later this year, 2016.

The main quests and side quests I tend to avoid for awhile if I can, and carve my own adventures in the open worlds. For that reason, Open world games are my favorite type of game, but also a fan of action games and some puzzle games, sometimes sports games.

I'm torn on whether to buy this at release or not. It looks good, and I can't recall ever playing a decent game set in pre-historic times, but I have so many games to buy in April and May that I'm just not sure I'll find the time to play it. It doesn't help that I'm a Street Fighter fanatic and will be playing the hell out of that.

I guess I'll wait for the reviews. If they're as good as Far Cry 3 and 4, I'll probably get it.

Roll on 23rd of Feb I didn't enjoy far cry 4 but this game looks kind of different to the far cry series and I love the new setting for the game. This and fallout 4 and the latest tomb raider game should keep me busy for a while.

Just give me solid controls, plenty of freedom to explore a giant open map, and some good enemies to fight, and that's a good start. Later on I'll focus back on the main missions to complete the story.

This gameplay walkthrough has a lot of spoilers, but at 38:00 in, looks like you can fly as an Owl in the game. Pretty cool.
The scenery looks great too.

Though I wish it had a 3PV in addition to the FPV, this is holding my attention and I'll probably buy it.

I feel the same way. The good thing is that these usually doesn't take long for a price drop. Within 3 months #4 was hanging out around the $35-$45 average.

Ubisoft titles in general price crash quicker than others. I was actually thinking about The Division and how if I cancel my Gold Edition order I could potentially buy it down the line at a lower price, kind of like Destiny Limited Edition did.

Pretty excited for this, however in Canada, prices are crappier. Regular is $79.99 but got it on a pre order deal for $63.99 which I am ok with.... will be my first Far Cry game. Love what I've seen so far.

79.99 is a high price, agreed. 63.99 is much better.

The Bow and Arrow weapon is a big draw for myself as well with archery as the main projectile form in the game. In Skyrim, first playthrough was as an archer.

Though the setting is different, the gameplay and game design look generally similar to FC4 (and FC3). So I would advise caution, if that's what you did not like. I fully expect it to be over the top as far as interactions with the wildlife go.
