Just finished watching this, and I have to say that it was better than I expected it to be. It wasn't great, and could've been better, but I enjoyed it for the most part. I'd rate it 3/5.

Oh I see, I haven't seen TG, I was going off purely the way the character appears. I guess the age of SC in TG is vital to the plot? Well, Cohan would've been decent as SC in another T film.

The age of the actress isn't important really, just how young she can actually look. Emilia Clarke is 29, but can pass for much younger. I love Lauren but I don't think she'd be a good fit for Sarah. I don't feel Emilia worked great either, but she was very likeable in the film at least.

Probably true. Orphan is awesome, so I'd take half as good in a January release, but I keep waiting for the next horror release that'll take me by surprise (Babadook, It Follows, etc)

If you are looking for a horror movie that does fake jump scares, has a boring first act, a really intriguing second act, and then turns the third act into a completely mess, this is the movie for you. The acting was average at best and there is very little in the way of suspense, but it did have some uniqueness going for it that was thrown out of the window for the last third. This was a total disappointment and is as generic as horror movies can get. This is the first movie I have seen of 2016 and I can already guarantee this will be on my top 10 worst list. A 4/10.

Maybe 'The Witch' will be the breakout of this year. Hearing excellent things about this.
