From what I know all three new 4K, Ultra HD BD players, Samsung, Philips and Panasonic support 3D, where the confusion comes in is that none, not even Panasonic's DMP-UB9800 support UHD 3D. But they all support FHD 3D, which is normal 1080p BD with 3D that we've had since 2006.
Hope this helps. -Robert |

I would have liked to see frame packed 3-D technology included in the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray specs, but the BDA decided not to. Perhaps if several native 4K 3-D movies are created in the future and if 3-D in the home becomes more popular, then maybe in the future a new 4K 3-D Blu-ray format could come out in 2020 (that’s a big maybe).
For now consumers should be happy with the fact that all the first generation 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray players will play ones existing 1080P Blu-ray 3-D collection. 100% of the 4K flat panels on the market that use passive glasses offer 1080P quality for each eye when in the 3-D mode. An 8K flat panel would need to be developed to offer passive glasses 4K 3-D quality. Also 100% of the active glasses 4K flat panels on the market have no way of accepting a 4K 3-D signal since the existing HDMI specs do not accept 4K Ultra HD 3-D frame packed signals. Therefore when an active glasses 4K flat panel receives the 1080P MVC 3-D frame packed signal from a Blu-ray 3-D movie, the image is upscaled to simulated 4K quality. |

I think like, 100 people total across all these forums. The same ones, too, lol.
I may be mistaken, but aren't 3D Bluray sales down? And have been trending down for some time? Isn't that why studios decided to stop supporting it? (I'm saying that without having done a Google search, just what I remember reading here) I like 3D, but having it or not is not a dealbreaker for me in 4K. |

Totally with you there. I was excited when I first got it, but now the novelty has worn off. I used it the most when I had a projector, now that I own a 4K TV, it's not as fun.

It was similar with Blu-ray Players: DVD Playback was mandatory, CD playback wasn't. But I've never seen a Blu-ray player which doesn't support Audio CDs. According to the manual the Samsung UHD Player also supports Audio-CDs for the few people who still use them. |

No Dolby Vision support is a disappointment when you consider the price of this player. That means it will be obsolete within the first year…
