Great movie. I didn't know there was a widescreen version. I just have the full frame version.

We need some 4k scans to come out on laserdisc so we can really experience the full quality.

The same as several here, I sold almost everything to the local shop way back when, but decided to keep 30 or so. Including the original Star Wars trilogy, the deluxe Aliens set and a few titles that have yet to appear on either DVD or BD.

I have 4 or 5 left. I purged my collection in the late 90's and put that toward DVD's. My Pioneer LD player is on the fritz. Had a lot of trouble getting the tray to open plus it took several tries to load a disc.

I have maybe 100 lasers. I keep them in those plastic milk cartons, they are HEAVY!! That one Star Wars box set weighs a ton. My player is also on the fritz. Discs take forever to load, which was not the case, when I first bought it.

I still have just under 2k. I sold off the majority of my collection between 2003 and 2004.

I don't but every once in a while I get tempted to buy an old player and some movies just to check it out since I never had the chance to experience laserdisc. Big thing stopping me is that even today, there is still an expense involved and what happens when the machine dies? That's my concern with my HD-DVD player so not sure if I want to get into another format that isn't supported anymore.

Does anyone know of a place to have players repaired? I seem to remember that there's a place in Washington state that still fixes/refurbishes old laserdisc players, but don't know any details...

I still have the majority of my collection, never counted it, 200 - 300 I'm guessing. Have the Peter Proud disc as well, as well as The Little Drummer Boy with the original soundtrack, Big Country w commentary, THX 1138, Kong 33 in color, a bunch of criterions, and quite a few signed ones, Last Temptation- Defoe, Heston -Ten Commandments, Hackman - French Connection I & II, Raquel Welch - 1Mil BC, Harryhausen a bunch, Oliver Stone - Platoon... etc...

I had the Image release of Slipstream but sold it...

Perhaps you guys could have a whip-round and put that out as your first legit Blu-ray release?

Still have my pioneer player...and just one disc now, "Mission Galactica" The Cylon Attack.

Upon first viewing it was a major disappointment...whatever film master they scanned for this disc looked
really bad with dark contrast and film scratches...the European only release of the dvd looked way better.

I still have some of mine. Kept about 100 discs in the collection.

My Pioneer player still works and plays just as well as the day I bought it, all those years ago.

True Lies, The Abyss, Scream Director's Cut, Lawnmower Man Director's Cut and Star Wars Unaltered Original Trilogy are just a few of the discs that I still give a spin from time to time.

I examine the collection once a year to make sure that no laser rot has appeared on any of the discs. So far, so good...
