watched this for the first time ever last night and I have to say I absolutely loved it! The soundtrack is amazing! Even though this is not the type of music I normally listen to, I just got swept up by it all. Amazing performances. I'm sorry it took me this long to watch a true gem.

Can anyone who owns this UK BD release of 'The Commitments' confirm what the language options (dub/subs) are? So far, this has only been released on DVD in Spain.

RTÉ One in Ireland are doing a new 3 part series on The Commitments called Back to Barrytown. It will start at 9:30pm from this Sunday night.

(I know it's a snowballs chance in hell because of rights issues, but I can dream!)

I found these in crappy condition a few years back, but these are in 1080p I can D/L these and watch them in on my Widescreen. Thanx so much<

I believe the Blu Ray is now out of print but was able to find a copy in a local shop. I can't believe it took me 33 years to finally watch this, but what a great film.

Hopefully we'll get a 4K one day.

Interesting.

So, clearly the original Negative is larger than either of the examples (is that a Super-35 shape?). There's more Vertical space in the 4:3 Versions and obviously so much more Horizontal Space in the Widescreen example. Thanks for this!
