It is possible that it will be avaible at amazon.de, as soon as it is avaible for preorder. (Even ofdb.de has the BD not for preorder, yet.)

The Movie may just be unrated, but it is not "indiziert" by the BPjM. There are some other Movies not rated in germany, but avaible at amazon.de (maybe via 3rd PArty seller, maybe not)

Warlock: The Armageddon i.e. is not just not rated, but also "indiziert".

(Never forget:
This is Germany... it HAS to be everything else, but simple...)

Sorry but if those specs are final then this is a real pitiful release with a fishy taste since the prior DVD by this distributor was always suspected to be a bootleg.

They claimed to have acquired the license from this "company":

http://mayvidentertainment.com (which was also evident in the copyright text of the german dvd-release).

Back then the labelowner claimed that a blu-ray would not be possible because the "licensor" delivered a HD-scan which would not match the labels requirements for blu-ray. Rumor has it that they used the online-rip of the US HDTV-stream. And of course that would have been visible on a blu-ray because of the artifacts (especially on the flames of the final fight). Given the "the HD is not good enough for Blu-ray" back then... and now they suddenly claimed to have access to the paramount HDTV master, the question should be why was it not good enough back then, because it is still the same.

The label has a package deal with paramount on several titles, but FRIGHT NIGHT 2 was not one of them. So rumor has it that someone at paramount must have been "asleep" when they might handed them the uncompressed HDTV master or they never got it and now just try to get away with a filtered version of the compressed HDTV stream. Little sidenote: The labelowner claimed that this new FRIGHT NIGHT 2 Blu-ray will look much better than the TWILIGHT TIME US RELEASE OF FRIGHT NIGHT 2.... well I guess that guy knows his stuff.

My recommendation, don't pre-order, rather wait for screenshots to see what's really on the disc.

Regarding special features: WITHOUT ANY DOUBT AT LEAST INTERVIEWS WITH BRIAN THOMPSON AND/OR TOMMY LEE WALLACE WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE....

this release is poorly executed while charging high prices and that actually embarrasses other german distributors who strive for much better releases.

Let's see if they really got the Paramount HDTV uncompressed master or if anything less appealing might be on this blu-ray.

I just tried to order, and they are not pre-ordering yet. As much as I am interested, I have the uneasy feeling that this disc is going to be a fudge-job.

http://shop.dtm.at

Quite good but they take ages to ship and then it seems like forever for the stuff to arrive. My experience anyway.

The only thing I can tell is that Columbia Tristar / SHE Germany owned the rights until 2008.

Price at ofdb.de € 29,98

So, if it appears on eBay or 3rd Party amazon.de seller I assume, it will be about € 35 excl. shipping.

It's not looking like it's ever going to get a US release, so this price isn't that bad to me.

Ugh, no way am I paying that. I'll live with my HDTV rip until something more affordable comes around, if it does.
