There's an interesting debate. This is a superb performance by Wayne in a superb film. I'm not sure that it's clear cut that it's his second greatest though.

Other worthy contenders - for me - include: The Quiet Man; Red River; She War A Yellow Ribbon; Rio Grande; Rio Bravo.

Excited about this release though, don't get me wrong!

Most of John Wayne's performances were great, beyond that it's all a matter of personal opinion about which ones are his greatest.

I vote for Red River. It's the one with the most range. Rio Bravo will probably forever be my favorite, though.

did anyone who pre-ordered from amazon get a ship yet?
mine didn't ship, and usually when it says "temporarily out of stock" on release day it means either a) all the discs they got they already sent out to pre-orders or b) they haven't received any discs yet from Warner.
I would vote b) at this point.
btw: all my other June 6 Warner pre-orders shipped just fine.

Looks great, my second favourite Ford/Wayne western after Stagecoach, it's on its way, so should be in the UK by next week. Not a bad year for westerns on Blu-ray.

Yes, it was a nice review, but I did have 1 problem with it. The reviewer said it was almost 70 years old. Heck, I was born in Feb. 1949 and at 67, I think I am a long ways from 70.

A film from my birth year from Ford with John Wayne, its a non-brainer.
