I watched it and it sucked !
Let's see DC changes every red headed character black Jimmy Olsen , Iris West , Wally West & Hawk Girl .
More interested in being PC than staying true to the comics and telling good stories .
Let me guess you are probably one of those people that demand Marvel makes Iron Fist Asian .
As a life long comic fan I am just tired of seeing bad adaptions being done .

Do you know that a few of adaptations synonyms are modification, alteration, and redesign? If you want your characters to be like you want them to be, then stick with the source material.

oh boo-hoo luckily only a few people have your narrow minded view on things. Rest of us we enjoy some change now and then in the side characters. And Supergirls character is in fact very true to how she is in most comics. So i really have no clue what you are babbling about. But of course its hard to judge that when you likely only have watched a tv spot to decide its bad

I must be going crazy, could have sworn I saw a mid-July release date for this. Got my fingers crossed that happens as I'd love to have the show sooner than later. Wait too long, August turns into a buzzsaw as Flash, Arrow and Legends are all probably around that time. Gets expensive alarmingly fast.

Oh, and yes, I'm male and I enjoy the show. It's fun, I like Kara as a character, but I'll argue it got better when
[Show spoiler]Martian Manhunter
showed up. Nothing feminist about that, just improved the dimensions of the story.

Legitimate question...
I was thinking earlier, like the silver age. As far as the comics are concerned, Wonder Woman and Supergirl were two of the first female protagonists. Wonder Woman made her first appearance around 1941, and Supergirl came about around the mid-50's. From what I remember, she was always kind of unsure of herself, a lot like she is in the show. The biggest problem with the Supergirl character early on was a lack of clear direction. It wasn't until later, like in the 90's, that they turned her into more of a rebel, like she is in Smallville.
As far as multi-racial characters are concerned, they were few and far between. As far as I know, they first started having multi-racial characters in the Superfriends in the late 70's and early 80's. The first ones were Black Vulcan, Apache Chief, and Samurai. They were created specifically by Hanna-Barbera for the show to increase the number of non-white characters. But before the civil rights movement, I can't think of any.
As far as I know, everything here is pretty much accurate. If anyone has any more information, then by all means, post it.

You're not going crazy, I was looking at the Blu-ray.com release calendar earlier this week and it had Supergirl coming out in July.

Thanks for the info. I remember NuBia, Bronze Tiger, The Black Spider, and Black Lightning. However, I was unaware of when they first made their debut. I didn't know of any before the 70's.

So Warner just announced Arrow s4 and Flash s2 Blu-Rays today. That is all their shows announced now i think. Except Supergirl. Wonder what the hell is keeping them from announcing this. When they could just have announced it today along with the other 2 instead of still this waiting game. This is very werd

There is also Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 and Gotham Season 2, but those have both been announced. They are both releasing in Mid-August. I wonder if it has something to do with Supergirl changing networks? I don't know.

It seems like they've been announcing two shows per day. I think it'll get announced today along with Supernatural Season 11.

I don't, either. It's right up there on WB's radar along with "Human Target" season two.
