I too am looking for confirmation of the One S having a UHD Blu-ray player. From the briefing it does not seem like it. The exact working in the video they showed was "4K Ultra HD Video and Blu-ray" That doesn't sound that an UHD Blu-ray player, just 4k video and a regular Blu-ray player.

It's been said plenty of times, it IS a UHD BD player. Just look at the post above yours for the most recent confirmation

Actually last thing I heard it was this year....

And you said beat Sony to market with a player, Sony are not just a games company

Ok cool. I didn't see the pic because my internet is so slow due to downloading the HW2 beta. Awesome, that's just awesome. I will defiantly take a closer look at this console.

Come on... We're talking about a console here it was implied...

Last I heard was that Sony reps had briefed retail boses on a few things including the delay to No Mans Sky and the focus on PSVR this year whilst NEO was being put back to 2017.

There will probably be really good deals on this come Black Friday, but I think it may be better to just wait for Scorpio next year. Not to mention whatever Sony comes up with.

Where has Microsoft said that it has it?

I did see a Verge video saying that it has it, but that is the only source that I can find.

Ahh! I see it. I was looking at the disclaimer at the bottom of the video and not the item description.

So now it becomes the choice of wait until August or wait until this holiday season to get the cheaper version with less storage.

I have the Elite right now, I'll wait until the Scorpio, which hopefully won't be white.

And here I was planning on not getting a slim. But with it being a good upgrade over my current console, I will buy it and pass down my normal Xbox One to a family member.

But does it play UHD movies?

LOL. This is great. But it seems likely that the current UHD player will drop to that by then. At any rate, it may well be the catalyst that drives prices down.
I'll buy it if the stand alone player(s) don't come down to that price.
