Oh right! That's very possible too!
Guardians of the Galaxy had a moment or two like this.

Good catch there!

According to Dolby, it's only in Dolby Atmos. No Dolby Vision. So definitely no Dolby Cinema.

I agree. Personally I think it was a bad idea to try to stop 3D now that more and more movies are coming out in 3D at the theaters. I am glad to see that LG is still producing 3D sets. In fact ,some of their sets are 4K/3D sets which is very nice. Thank you LG!

Not true: films are still being made in 3D, but session times are declining. My local cinema really doesn't give a shit about 3D anymore.

It seems they are only doing these bundles in the US - at least the Blu-ray 3D of "Angry Birds: The Movie" will be widely available in Europe as a regular release and not be exclusive to the UHD set.

Yup, the 3 theaters around me (New Jersey USA) run the 3D for about a week and then it gone. And they usually have the 2D on like 2-3 screens and the 3D on 1. And sometimes I notice they may only have like 2-3 3D showings a day. Its dying. I think people got tired of everything being in 3D and 99% useless...so they feel it not worth the extra money. The only 3D I saw this year was Batman v Superman and Civil War and it wasn't because I wanted to, it was because the IMAX was only 3D and I wanted the IMAX footage. And last year same with Star Wars. Although I did see Martian in 3D because Scott actually gives a **** and has actual talent using the tech. 3D is fine when the director actually uses it, but stuff like Civil War was atrocious in 3D because of the sped up framerate/jumpy cuts/shaky cam.

Yep, that's what the folks on the film-tech forum were saying too. Makes sense.

So the 3D version is opened up to 1.85:1? or maybe a 2.00:1 AR like Jurassic World?

I'm not sure but I don't think so, the idea is that the 2.40 letterbox borders are still there but the 3D effects spill over them, as seen on movies like G-Force and Guardians of the Galaxy. Sin City 2 also used letterboxing at certain moments to make the 3D effect appear to 'break out' of the screen.

41 Reviews, 76%. Not bad.

Critics Consensus: Ghostbusters does an impressive job of standing on its own as a freewheeling, marvelously cast supernatural comedy -- even if it can't help but pale somewhat in comparison with the classic original.

G-string and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For? Interesting.

Edit: Damm you auto correct! Of course I meant G-Force.

BTW I don't mean that Sin City 2 3D is letterboxed all the way through, it just kicks in at certain moments to make the edge violations really pop out, e.g.

I can confirm this is the case for the IMAX version. There is also one short sequence that is opened up to 1.90:1, though it is incredibly short.
