You'd have to work for a pretty big, successful firm to be able to take on a high-profile murder trial pro-bono.

seriously, usually murder cases have more than 1 person working it and they all need to be paid...

feel bad for John , but if it was my son i would want the best lawyer in the business.

Clearly she is doing it for the publicity.

You do know how much these people get paid right? They can afford to do a lot of free work.

I am really liking this show so far. Third episode was different, the change in lawyers wasn't expected. That lady is definitely doing it for the publicity. Very little of the "subtle beast" cop in the last episode. I wonder how much we will see of him later, guy is a prick!

I knew that inmate was bad news early on.

I kept wondering what his motivation was for helping a guy who appeared to be despised by rest of the population.

...and now we know.

I'm also realizing now that this isn't going to be a trial show.

We're heading into episode five next week.

No way they could fit a trial in now.

There's still 4 episodes left, plenty of time for a trial imo. I'm going to guess the last two episodes will be all trial. I'm also going with the
[Show spoiler] black guy staring at Naz and Andrea as they went into their apartment being the real killer. Also the same guy that killed baby oil inmate's niece

As far as I can tell the show is basically being told in real time.

They're not jumping ahead days or weeks, let alone months at a time. There would have to be a pretty abrupt leap forward in episode 6 or 7 for there to be the beginning of a murder trial. And then they'd only have an episode or two to get through it.

Doesn't seem likely imo.

My guess is something comes out that gets him off the hook well before that.

...has to involve the stepfather in some way.

I thought episode 4 was great. It's getting more and more interesting, I knew that inmate was up to something too.

At the speed most tv series play out these days, the trial won't even start until around Season 8 with the verdict handed down in Season 15.

I guess I assumed that this is a one-off season type of show, like True Detective.

Even if there's a season two, it would be a different story with a different cast.

Though there probably won't be a second season.

...this doesn't appear to be getting anywhere near the level of pub that True Detective received.

I actually went on google tonight to look up information on ways to prevent getting eczema.

...I'm not even kidding.

That's how freaked out I've become by John Turturro's foot condition.

Wish they'd focus more on those foot issues. That skin condition should be the main plot line, with the rape/murder trial secondary.

There has to be some resolution on the foot condition by the end of the show.

If not I would consider the entire season to be an utter failure.

The fans deserve answers.

How did he contract the condition?

Was the subtle beast involved?

Clearly they have a history together.

Turturro started poking his nose where it didn't belong and they wanted to destroy his credibility.

...and they went after his feet to do it.
