Hopefully Ridley Scott eventually gets back to filming in 3D with Scorsese too as well as Paul WS Anderson, Ang Lee, etc. So currently Mission Impossible 6 is being filmed in 3D at this time. Transformers Last Knight will hopefully go for strong 3D in every shot instead of filming it mild and then amping it up during the action as several films did that are filmed in 3D, like Amazing Spider-Man 1 3D.

I noticed that. I'm super salty AF (very upset). If they don't release a 3D version I'll accept the fact the 3D blu ray will die and no longer add to my collection. PLEASE, Pretty please with sugar on top..do not let this be the case.

I'm not saying this is the case, but Kong 3D and Lego Batman 3D took a while to show up for preorder. Funny that King Arthur already has a preorder though ...
EDIT: Of course, after I post this, now King 3D has disappeared off of Websites. Last edited by bud_brigman; 06-02-2017 at 08:30 PM. |

2017 is a down year for native 3D in Hollywood, but thanks to Michael Bay for carrying the flag. 2018 should at least bring Alita: Battle Angel and M:I 6, which will hopefully provide adequate interaxials. Because of the increased quality of conversions, the post-Avatar native 3D boom is over, and only filmmakers truly interested in stereography are going to continue the art. |

Just got done watching this in RealD 3D.
It was mostly medium 3D throughout. With the action scenes bumping it up a bit. This movie was all about depth, no pop-outs that I can really recall. Just as I thought I might get an arrow or bullet coming at me it didn't happen. They came close a few times but no cigar. There was a fair amount of crosstalk in the background in some scenes Three off the top of my head are when Diana is trying on clothes, Pine and Diana going into a council meeting and Diana sitting around a campfire. One of my favorite 3D segments involved a bullet being fired and followed when Wonder Woman is crossing no man's land. That whole scene was done really well. Although this movie seemed to be going for depth they really could have pushed it back more. The island scenes especially. There's a few scenes that were non action that were good, I enjoyed a boat segment scene as they are heading to London and eventually arrive. The one area I was craving for some fantastic 3D was when Wonder Woman uses her lasso, unfortunately I didn't get it. The 3D was good but definitely not great. The movie on the other hand I really enjoyed. Gadot is fantastic as Wonder Woman , she embraces this role with bravery, sympathy and even naivety. This isn't a dark film like previous DC films, meaning there's actually color in it. It's a lighter story than BVS and has some really good humor. They wisely place the male characters around her as brave men who aren't idiots. This isn't a movie that is pushing a agenda of women are better than men. The chemistry between Gadot and Pine is fantastic, you can feel this relationship between the two progress as the movie goes along. They both have each other's back. Action set pieces are solid, the direction is great and the score is magnificent. My only small complaint is the villains , not too much to them. I also felt the final fight scene was a bit of a letdown. It became way to cgi heavy , but all things considered it was still good. I can't wait to see this again, I'm going to grab tickets this weekend to take my wife and daughter. My scores 3D : 3/5 Movie : 4/5 Last edited by 1blufan; 06-02-2017 at 09:18 PM. |

HMV UK will have an exclusive steelbook with the 3D and 2D blu-ray discs included.
I'm sure Best Buy will have this also, but probably only 4K and 2D blu-ray. The HMV UK group buy is being hosted by the always-reliable cudzndrips. LINK ![]() |

I don't like to contradict anybody and maybe you miss it but a few arrows pop out of the screen, also some bullets. That said your right the 3D was mostly depth. Something about this movie reminded me of the first Captain America film.

You are correct, but for my screening it never felt like it was anything much to write about. Because it was rather weak and very brief, it left me with a "it almost got there type of feeling".

3-D was fine if unremarkable. Solid depth, little in the way of out-of-screen effects. If you've seen a bunch of these superhero movie conversions, you'll pretty much know what to expect. It isn't one of the strongest (Doctor Strange, BvS), but it's no Thor either.
The movie itself, though, was fabulous. Wonder Woman let loose in the Great War? What an awesome idea. And the action didn't disappoint. The No Man's Land scene was an instant classic: bursting with emotion and the character's potential as a force for good. Subsequent fight scenes were gripping and beautifully done. Perfect casting, too, especially Gadot and Pine. The above comments about the finale are spot on--the overblown CG fight at the end wasn't really worthy of the rest of the film, which was very measured and knew when and how to dole out the beat-downs. I'd hesitate to call it the first great superheroine movie. It's almost there but not quite. It does leave a lasting impression. The story is old-fashioned and universal at the same time, like all the best pop mythology. Powerful stuff. And it bodes well for future instalments (and even the upcoming Justice League). If only they'd pushed the 3-D a little more, like they did with BvS. That was near reference quality. This was simply good enough. The film itself, far better than expected. |

I agree with the 3D reviews so far, listing this as mostly an average 3D film.
Wonder Woman 3D: Cinemark, deluxe recliner chair seating (not enough seats), midrow, slightly to the left of center, regular 3D theater (not XD3D), sitting upright for the best 3D, not leaning back. 3D Layers: 7/10. Very nice, medium 3D layering. Consistent too. The strongest 3D was surprisingly when they first enter London on a boat, and the shot of the laboratory table with the evil woman alchemist just before London. 3D Pop Out Count: 3/10. A few brief, medium pop outs. The Bullet was the highlight pop out of the entire movie, with stronger 3D for it. 3D Framing: 7/10. The framing of the characters and scenes mostly are suited for decent 3D. This wasn't really made with 3D in mind though. If it was, it missed a lot of opportunities, throwing many projectiles away from the screen for example. 3D Summary: 7/10. A good, medium 3D movie. There are some dimly lit scenes that don't help the 3D due to the lower contrast. The movie was interesting, but my favorite moment was the beginning scenes and battle, and then the battle at about 75 minutes in, and then the final battle. The mid battle was awesome and the highlight of the entire movie, and could not be topped in my opinion with the other action scenes. The pacing of the film is generally slow if you're in it for the action, as one would expect with any movie Zach Synder has a hand in, in this case, as the story writer. So expect a good hour of dialog, and then the action later on. I did like Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, even if some of the dry humor didn't get many laughs in my theater. Chris Pine did a good job and brought life to the film also. |
