Held onto the Inception supplements disc with the Zimmer iso score track when I sold that Steelbook recently in prep for being disappointed on this very subject when that pic hits UHD (likely around the same time as Dunkirk).

The standard remastered Blu-ray is pretty much as good as it gets... We are talking about 35mm film. Expect just more refined grain as usual

I don't want HDR for classic movies either....

I'm interested in the reviews for this one because it's one of the first UHD films I'm actually interested in (I'm not paying $50 for terrible films just to see them in high resolution).

I'd tend to agree with you, though. I just can't imagine the difference being major at all - like you say it'll be more refined grain but almost completely unintelligible in motion.

Would like to be proved wrong but I'm very skeptical.

It depends on the film stock used and the condition of the OCN's when they did the 4k scan.

This could look quite good. The color palette, especially, may be much improved.

Thanks for this. From the The Town showing up on Amazon France to this, it's interesting to me that we're seeing some Warner UHD BD titles on international sites before domestic.

Wow - Roadshow is being super agressive with their 4K rollout in Australia. And that price point too - bargain!

In this case it is not so much the resolution as it is the improved color. Film has color density well beyond SDR. If done right it could make a big difference.

The source restoration is still the same, this time in native 2160p, P3 color space, 10-bit HDR.

Still, this a 35mm movie, don't expect miracles. The current remastered Blu-ray is top quality already

It depends on many factors (lighting, lenses, film stock emulsion, film stock speed, ISO at time of filming, etc.), but 4k scanning of a 35mm OCN is almost equivalent in resolution.

Also the Czech release indicates that they will go for the original poster artwork. It will be available there late October. What is more interesting is that it is listed as a BD-100 disc.
