If your collection is any indication, you wouldn't like it. The closest thing in your collection to this movie is Black Swan. It's an art film--heavy on style, light on story. I would recommend this movie to people who like films like Cronenberg's Crash and Glazer's Under the Skin (as well as David Lynch).

It is a horror movie. Seriously. There are no jump scares, monsters, or other tropes. It's more of a BEAUTIFUL watch this unfold type of situation. It is visual heavy and dialogue lite as all NWR movies are.

One of my favorites of the year. As a reference, I give Valhalla a 60%, Bronson a 70%, Driver a 70% and OGF a 40%.

On Amazon.it, it's now €10,00 for the first item to the States, but with VAT removed, it's still hard to complain. I would also buy for myself from them, because you're very unlikely to pay less in a group buy, unless there are dozens of orders. Even then, you're probably saving $5 maximum, so I think it's better to deal with Amazon directly.

thanks much. it's been some time since i've imported, and i didn't know things got a little more realistic on first item cost. i'll place my order shortly. i'm not starving for content, but with the equipment cost already paid, i'll never buy a BD if a UHD is available. just would be wasteful.

Finished this movie last night. It took me a few days to get through, it was so god awful. Please do NOT blind buy this(especially with it being an import). Rent the film and make sure you like it before you spend your hard-earned money.

It's a very divisive film, be forewarned. I'm a fan of Nicolas Winding Refn's work and I enjoyed it. I've talked with other fans and they hated it. If you go in expecting another Drive, you will be sorely disappointed.

The Neon Demon is pure NWR. It is certainly nowhere as accessible as "Drive". So for those of you looking for a repeat of "Drive", this may not be for you. In fact, I am not a particular fan of where the story goes.

[Show spoiler] I think the "horror" would have been a lot more compelling if it was a bit more ambiguous (like a David Lynch dream sequence). Or perhaps if the movie didn't take itself so seriously, and was more campy. I understand this was certainly not NWR's intention, but I think it would have been more entertaining.

That being said, the hypnotic cinematography and soundtrack just completely sucks you in. It is pure awesomeness! I don't have a UHD player or TV yet, but I am getting this as it seems to be the only 4k release of this movie. If any movie was meant for 4K, this is it.

Does anyone know if the commentary track on this release is the same one with Refn and Elle Fanning that's included on the Broadgreen release?

I'll never understand why people keep doing this with NWR films. I mean this & Drive aren't even in the same genre, why would anybody go in with any expectation that if they liked Drive, they would like this?

That's like saying well I liked Goodfellas, so surely I'll like Hugo, right?
